Weekend report
Sunday, April 30, 2000 16:37
This weekend, in comparison with the past several weekends, has been mostly uneventful. Well, not entirely so. I did go to see Fantasia 2000 yesterday, which was fun. Definitely a good experience for music lovers.

Well, that movielog entry for last night wasn't supposed to appear until I finish it. Last night, I come home, type half an entry. Ding! Clock takes over. Time to go watch the new Xena. So I uncheck the little "publish" checkbox, hit submit, thinking all is well. The half-written version will sit in the database, and nobody will see it until I return at my leisure to finish. Of course, I don't bother to look at my page and make sure everything is normal, cause I was in too much of a hurry (inconsistent use of present and past tense aside).

Hmmmm. The first movielog entry for many an age, it would seem. Almost hard to remember how to go about these things. :)

Clouded brain, not very inspired, but here
Friday, April 28, 2000 21:29
Well, today marked the last day of "C"'s time at eSoft. As such, the whole gang -- or at least those who were able to make it -- headed out of work early to go to B.J.'s in Boulder to wish the coworker a final farewell. The last time I went to that restaurant was an outing last fall with all the x13 people.

Well, I just got done reading somebody else's nice little webpage updates, which happened to devote a nice big full paragraph to something, or some things, I wrote here yesterday. And I'm getting the sneaking suspicion that an email from... ahem... someone else... ahem... isn't too far off. (The "w" command can show you some amazing facts sometimes. lol.) I shall refrain from further comment at this time.

Back for a quickie
Wednesday, April 26, 2000 21:21
How funny that I would be talking about muses, only to see the title of tonight's episode. :) That was a good one. Well, I enjoyed it at least. Maybe not any big space battles, but a well written, well done episode. lol at some of the stuff that playwrite came up with though. Janeway and Chakotay. lol. I almost could have taken some of the lines to be subtle criticism of prior Star Trek shows. All that talk about twists and tricks to take the place of the heart of the story. Could they have meant some of the more technobabble-filled plots of TNG? And all the kissing romance stuff, a benign mocking of DS9's final seasons? Nah. :)

Well, that wraps another weeks of Quality Television Programming (tm). Actually, tonight's Buffy episode was so-so. A good hour of entertainment, but nothing horribly outstanding. Lol at Giles and the guitar though. And that cwazy, cwazy lady. Teachin' em the Ways of the Lord. Scary.

I suppose this rambling would be yet another to fall under the category of "Another wild weekend comes to an end, so now let's psych back up for the return to the 8-5 workplace week." Except of course, that on this workplace week, I will be driving myself to the workplace. Heeheehee. :)

Saturday, April 22, 2000 08:08
And THAT title is the literal truth. I may wish I was pulling a Neelix, but I am not. (Readers may choose any definition of "pulling a Neelix" that they feel applies; the statement would hold its veracity under all definitions currently in my database.)

In my existence as a linux user, there has been nothing more mysterious and annoying that mail transport agents. Grrrrr. Especially when you're on an ISP which has some really stupid, ugly restrictions on outgoing connections through port 25, which you've had to kludge inelegant workarounds left and right to get things to work at all. And then, under certain circumstances, these kludges backfire. Ugggggghh.

Wednesday, April 19, 2000 20:02
Alright, so here I've been even since arriving home from work, zoning out on Tori Amos, followed by a little Marilyn Manson. Actually, zoning isn't the right word. Immersing would be more like it. Gotta do that sometimes.

It's part 2. Regular readers (and are there really any other kind?) know what that means. (It occurrs that I should really make a way to easily navigate back to part 1 without having to scroll down a bunch. Oh well. Maybe in the mythical Version 2. Except it's structure is totally different anyway. Well, enough of that.)

And it is indeed. Not a minute too soon for me, in this case. On the agenda for this edition of "Ways to make weekends suck less": A LOT of time lying on my ass, a LOT of letting my neck heal itself from whatever mysterious ailment was procured sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning (it was better today than yesterday, but still an annoyance), as much sleep as my little head desires, and some good reading. Maybe a little tv too. :)
