Alrighthy then! I have a LOT of shit to ramble about tonight. But before a complete report on the CLIQ is posted, let's get the routine stuff over with. But even before that, I must say this:

Sincere kudos go to Jaeger, bouncing, and Scott for the pleasant surprise waiting in my email box upon arrival back home. I can once again post live ramblings. Woohoo! What an excellent day this has been! :)

Guess what day it is? I mean besides all the other cool stuff that's happend. And besides the fact that today's holiday gives the funnest search engine around yet another chance to goof off and post some greatly hilarious content.

Yes, it's the first of the month. And what do I do on the first day of every month of the year 2000? If you've read this page for very long, you guessed it. If not, follow along.

New Years Resolutions:

  • This year, I shall find a real job. Actually, better make that this month. Or sooner.

lol. Do I even need to keep repeating this one? I think not. Unless as an excuse to gloat perhaps. :) 100%.

  • This year, I shall buy a new desktop PC. The former being a prerequisite for this one.

Hmmm. To be honest, I really haven't spent very much time to focusing on this one. When I do do it, I want it to be done right. Also, there are more immediate financial priorities that have become increasingly high in my queue lately (read: car). I may actually delay this one until later in the year. Good old Dagobah can't run Quake III, but it works quite nicely for ramblings and perl coding. :) 1%, or whatever it was last time.

  • This year, I shall find a girlfriend. Well, maybe. Or at least meet a few prospectives.

L O L. :) I am CERTAIN that in this chair sits the most clueless person on the planet when it comes to such things. No progress whatsoever! However... Can I please have a point for effort? Please? [Puppydog eyes plead into the metaphorical mirror.] Even if such "effort" is probably more pathetic than any in the history of the world? Alright. One point. But I dispense that point more out of charity to myself than from actually having gotten anywhere. 1%

    WOOHOO! One point! It's progress!

    NOT

    On to the next item...

  • This year, I shall find more avenues other than the Internet to channel my self expression.

Hmmmm. I once again have to wonder whether it was actually me that typed that. Well, let's assess: Does going to a Linux tradeshow and conversing with a bunch of computer geeks count? lol. Well, it's probably the closest we're actually going to come on this item, so I think it has to be counted. Also, I suppose we could say that I have found a mentor of sorts, but given that this "mentor" is also a self-confessed net.junkie, this may just turn into the world's saddest case of the blind leading the blind. Anyway... A very generous 10%

  • This year, I shall obtain lodging of my own. The biggest one by far, but a worthy goal. This place is great, but I need to strike out on my own, make a life, gain independence. Ya know?

It's gonna happen. I can feel it. Goddammit, I'm gonna MAKE it happen! :) Realistically, it might be a few months though. To use the Millennium motto (in a totally out of context way that would make Frank Black cringe): The time is near. 0%

  • Be true, honest to myself. I know this one sounds kind of vague and clichéd. Let me see if I can better define what I mean. Oh heck, this might take a few paragraphs, so I'll get back to it momentarily.

Yadda yadda yadda. Hmmm... Seriously, I believe I suffered a temporary setback during the month, which I did eventually recover from. To truly deal with your feelings, you must face them head on. No denial, no matter how painful some implications may be. You accept reality, feel the rush along with the sting (cause they're both the same thing, really), and live on. Life sucks. Life rocks. Life is. Percentage rating declined.

Alright, maybe that wasn't quite so quick as I thought it would be. It doesn't help that I kept stopping to read and send email in between sentences.

Nevertheless, after this, I shall take a break, during which I shall attempt to procure food, resync all my content now that we're back up (a big Woohoo, slightly tempered by the annoying fact that we're not all quite back up just yet... but I think that will be corrected soon), and then... I shall return with a COMPLETE report on...

[drumroll]

The Colorado Linux Info Quest. Stay tuned...
