Well, that movielog entry for last night wasn't supposed to appear until I finish it. Last night, I come home, type half an entry. Ding! Clock takes over. Time to go watch the new Xena. So I uncheck the little "publish" checkbox, hit submit, thinking all is well. The half-written version will sit in the database, and nobody will see it until I return at my leisure to finish. Of course, I don't bother to look at my page and make sure everything is normal, cause I was in too much of a hurry (inconsistent use of present and past tense aside).

Then, this morning I go and visit a "referenced to, referenced by" page, and discover that it is fairly likely that my entry has already been read. I go back and look at my own page for once. Sure enough. Out there, it is. That's what I get for significantly altering my codebase two months ago, and then not actually going to any movies to test it for real.

So, I go to finish it anyway, and discover/remember that I never ported the movielog edit code. Doh! It probably had something to do with the fact that I was planning to have that dreadful code thrown out the window and left in the category of "old crap you never would admit to have written" before seeing another movie. Doh!

So, time to port the old code. (Heaven forbid I ever actually move myself out of this infernal stone age.) Now, it's much worse than it was before. But it's kludged to do what I need it to do for the moment. And now, I fear that my entry is also in an even sadder state. My summary of the last portion of the movie was pretty dull.

So, maybe now, I'll go try to fix that, and write a real ending. Then, maybe, just maybe, this will serve motivate me enough to get the new Version 2 code out the door. Maybe.
