Maybe like journal

Friday, March 31, 2000 19:47

Last night/this morning, I was certain that whatever demon it is who continuously conspires to deprive me of sleep was hard at work. After I finished the rambling which kept me up an hour later than I had initially planned, I quickly went into a peaceful sleep.

How many times can I say I'm sorry?

Wednesday, March 29, 2000 21:06

Yeah, well.... Not a big Phil Collins fan, but that line from the song has been in my head lots lately. I think I know why. Elaboration: negative. Already been done in private email. Still been feeling shitty about it. Anyway, that's enough on that.

Addicted to ramblings (or so it seems)

Monday, March 27, 2000 07:16

You know, after last night's entries, I begin to feel like one of those wayward pupils who, after begging and pleading with their mentor for advise on some important matter, and such advise is generously given, the ungrateful student says, "Screw you. I'm gonna do want I want."

That's a wrap

Monday, March 27, 2000 00:06

Before I hit the sack in preparation for tomorrow's trip back into the realm of productivity and geeky corporate-ness, I think it would only be fitting to punctuate this great occassion of much pointless web content with ... more pointless web content!

A follow-up to the follow-up

Sunday, March 26, 2000 20:04

Ok, now this one certainly won't be as huge as last night's monstrosity, but the timespan might be rather large, because I plan to type a little, go watch the tv that's worth watching, and then return during commercials or when Fox decides to interlace crap with the good stuff, and I'll add bits and pieces as I feel like it, maybe even referencing segments of shows I've just seen if the mood strikes me. Sound good?

Satan is NOT a Skanky Ho, goddammit! And your honor, I resent the implication directed toward my client!

Sunday, March 26, 2000 11:06

I'm beginning to feel like I've spent more of my waking hours this weekend typing into this browser window than on any other activity. This just brings me to wonder: Do I make this web page so I can write about my life, or is it the other way around? Do I instead live my life so that can go and write about it in this web page? lol. What is the means, and what is the end?

Back in a flash

Sunday, March 26, 2000 05:24

Ok, this is actually a part 2, even though it doesn't indicate anything about it in the title. But I didn't really say much of substance in part 1, so if you want to get right to the meat, this is the place. OTOH, if you want to see all the irrelevant garbage that it took in order to work up to this point, better go back a notch.

The Big Follow-Up

Sunday, March 26, 2000 03:25

Alrighty then. Having just returned from a brief trip to Safeway with bouncing, I am now armed with a nice big bag of chips, a yummy jar of cheese sauce, two liters of fresh Pepsi, and a big cup of ice to put it in. And the Garbage cd is just getting underway with Temptation Waits. Perfect for what promises to be a nice, big, messy rambling. And I'll try not to make any statements that will have me sticking that big foot into my oral orafice within the next few days. :)

I'm a mind-numbed idiot, part 2

Thursday, March 23, 2000 19:32

Damn! It's a good thing I bothered to look six centimeters down at my memory/swap usage meter when I did. Had I typed another sentence, Netscape most probably would have run out of extra memory to waste and proceeded to crash, leaving all the important policy-making documents adrift in memory dump land. As it was, my system was practically much brought to a hault for five minutes after I pushed the submit button. Grrrrr.

Mind-numbed idiots

Thursday, March 23, 2000 19:05

Sweet. My new Threat Level 5 cd just arrived, which I am now hearing. This is very good, because it helps to offset what has been by far for me the dullest day since I started at The Company. (A name which I shall use to refer to it from here on. Why? Don't know. Don't ask.)

Insomniac Psychobabble

Thursday, March 23, 2000 05:11

Ever get the feeling that SOME PEOPLE just write web pages whose entire purpose for existence is so that some OTHER PEOPLE might possibly get a clue? That they're written with the vague hope, that a certain SOMEONE might just read, a lightbulb will suddenly flash on, and that INDIVIDUAL (an individual who calls himself... Morphius. Sorry, going offtopic again) will "get it?" Ever get that feeling?

Something

Sunday, March 19, 2000 18:04

So this morning, I wake up. It must've been almost noon, and my ears were ringing with a fair degree of intensity. The question: Was it caused by the "Dance Party" I attended? Or was it the walkman that I had listened to at max volume for two hours after laying awake for a half hour following last night's entry? (I'm not even reading it again; I'm afraid of the number of misspellings, grammatical errors, and nonsensical statements it is sure to contain.)

Lazy day. Very lazy.

Saturday, March 18, 2000 17:42

Last night, I went to bed early. Very early. That may sound boring, but believe me, it was a Good Thing. This morning, I woke up at 0730, cooked some Delicious Dish (tm) (trademarked by me, even though the title is a total ripoff), and while I ate, surfed over to Mary D's bard page, and proceeded to engage in an old pastime. Nothing quite like it. :)

So, what am I doing up at this ridiculous hour? Well, I did go to bed about 4 hours ago, and went straight to sleep. That was good, cause I needed (and still need) it. But a few minutes ago, my brain just decides to spontaniously wake up. This time, I didn't feel like fighting it, so here I am, typing garbage while listening to Alanis Morissette. I'll go back down after a few minutes.

The Ninth Gate (boycott)

Saturday, March 11, 2000 05:25

I came very close to actually seeing this movie. After a month of no visits to the theatre, I'm starting to get antsy. Could it be that it really is some sort of psychological addiction? If so, I wouldn't even consider it a bad one. Except of course, when those who keep a strangehold on the industry are doing their best wreak terror worldwide, going after anyone who believes that the masses should also have equal knowledge and access to the technology.

blah blah blah (a series of disjointed, tangential commetary)

Saturday, March 4, 2000 00:26

So here it is, friday night, and i'm sitting around trying to think of possible ways to make this weekend suck less than the last one did. Surfing the fm band, which I haven't done much of lately, I find out that the peak is being bought out by some hispanic company, and nobody knows what's gonna happen to the station until monday morning. Lots of listeners calling in all concerned/pissed off/flaming Rover/kissing Rover's ass, ya know. The typical variety of people from the "us" community. lol. (funny (to me anyway) because every race except caucasion generally almost always gets referred to by the media as "the $ethnic_variety community")

Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi!

Wednesday, March 1, 2000 21:44

>sigh/< Well, I was gonna type this rambling into m14, but its http auth entry box has apparently regressed into an unusable state again. Bummer. Looks like it's coming along in other ways. I just don't understand how a browser built by programmers who can do all this amazing stuff like a super-duper rendering engine, xml compliance, and all those other good things, can't seem to get a simple text entry box to work right, and not max out the CPU completely. (Granted, it is a pretty old slow CPU in my case, but still...) Oh well. I'm sure they'll figure it out one of these days.
