Lazy day. Very lazy.

Last night, I went to bed early. Very early. That may sound boring, but believe me, it was a Good Thing. This morning, I woke up at 0730, cooked some Delicious Dish (tm) (trademarked by me, even though the title is a total ripoff), and while I ate, surfed over to Mary D's bard page, and proceeded to engage in an old pastime. Nothing quite like it. :)
After a little while of that, I was again feeling groggy, and didn't resist when my firmware's interrupt routines promptly directed me to walk two meters to my rear, and power down again. I think I went to sleep more quickly than I have all week. A very Good Thing.
I awoke shortly before noon. Perfect! Just in time to watch the Saturday afternoon ritual of fantasy shows. (That is, until channel 2 decides to rearrange everything again, which could happen at anytime. It seems that whenever some idiot in their programming department has a whim, all the shows get moved around for no apparent reason.)
The Lost World episode I had actually seen before. It was the one with the bees. Yeah, very corny. Some might even say lame. Yeah well... so be it. I am officially having a lazy day. Sometimes, on lazy days, one watches lame shows. Deal.
Of course, Beastmaster followed; a rerun, but I hadn't seen it before. Very cool episode, actually. <speech pattern="surferdude">You know that evil little magic midget dude? He, like, gets raised back from the dead with the help of the demonic thing with the red eyes. And then? He gets all the animals to start fighting and killing each other? Right? And that forest chick, you know? The blond with the wacky ponytail and green skintight outfit? She is, like, totally pissed, and orders Dar to stop whatever's happening. But he can't figure it out, cause the animals stop talking to him, cause they're going crazy, ya know? Then the madness starts affecting Dar, and he gets into a fight with Tao, and...</speech> Ok, I'll stop there. Anyway, it was a very good episode. Trust me. :)
Then wrap it up with Cleo and Jack. Series premiers which I had missed the first time, so that was cool to see how both of them actually started. Jack of All Trades is a laugh out loud show. It really is. Provided, of course, that one watches it while in a very, very goofy mood. Fortunately, Cleopatra 2525 has a tendancy to put one into just such a mood. The perfect combo! And I guess that's why they call it Back 2 Back Action. (And I swear, I am not on the Renaissance Pictures payroll. Honest.)
Upon emerging from total couch potatoism, I decided to engage in computer chair potatoism. :)
Paid a visit to COP International (I haven't been there for ages, it seems), and happly noted that the Threat Level 5 cd has finally come out. Actually, it's been out for a while, but I just didn't know it.
From there, I also discovered another band (one chick, really) whose cd I'll almost certainly have to obtain when it is released. Chiasm, another COP artist (meaning quality), was recommended by the Threat Level 5 page. I downloaded all the available mp3s, and surfed through the page (cool place, if you can put up with the geocities trappings).
I wanted to get both cds in one purchase, but since the Chiasm cd isn't out yet, and I really don't feel like buying a compilation, even though there might be some good stuff from other bands on it, I decided to just grab the TL5 for now.
It is one of my goals to minimize the amount of money spent in support of the tyrannical beast that is the RIAA, and instead obtain more of my music from forward-thinking artists/labels, whose stuff can be, frankly, at least as good as that from the big money. You just have to be willing to sift a little to find what you want. This music ain't gonna be spoonfed to the masses over the airwaves. Not yet, anyway. :)
Well, now I'm thinking about getting out of the house for a bit. I want to go to a bookstore. Since the parents' car is unavailable at the moment, I'm contemplating making use of the RTD system. I figure I'll head to Pearl Street (Not to be confused with Perl Street. Yes, Perl Street is also a real place, at least in the delusional minds of a few slightly eccentric cube dwellers. :) )
I figure an evening in the wacky land of the Republic Boulder, and I can make it home in time for the new Xena episode, which I truly hope will improve from what it's sunk to lately. We'll see.
Here's to a full swap partition!
