lol.
Alright, remember all this shit I wrote last night? I don't. But whatever it was, scratch it. Any doubts I may have had about the coolness of my place of employment have been soundly disseminated. Amazing what a day can do, isn't it? :)
I swear, it's never a dull moment at that place. Alright, maybe there are a few, but even those end up laced with some sort of interesting spice to them. Call it the "fun" factor. Especially when things escalate to the point of emails getting sent which consist of the words, "Yeah, well fuck you!" lol.
Seriously, I don't think I would trade this job for any in the world. Yeah, yeah, that's easy to say after a good day. But I needed a good day, goddammit! After all the piss-bucket strangeness that has overshadowed the first half of this week, it's just cool to get down to earth again. And I'm happy to say that I was not personally involved in any pissing contests on this day. I feel so special now. lol. :)
Actually, by any normal, objective measure, this has been a really shitty day. I have been cursed with gremlins for all eternity. (Or at least until another chosen one can be found, but you know that doesn't happen very often.) I was also chastised at lunch by the waiter for not eating the provided sauce with my food. lol. rotfl. I am NOT making it up! There were at least THREE other witnesses there. Ask THEM. I don't think I've been given that stern of a rebuke since grade school, where there was a certain music teacher who absolutely loved to torture students. But I digress. lol. :)
And here I sit, typing one sentence per hour, it seems. Too much time just spent relishing the funniness, I guess.
Ok, on a slightly (but not very) serious note, I'm going to say what will probably be the last follow-up to Monday and Wednesday's "thread", if it could be called that. Brief too, cause there really ain't much more to say. Well, I'm glad that it happened. ("it" being so vaguely defined as to let each reader interpret what they wish. Personally, I wouldn't equate expressing one's views with the process of urinating, but those who wish to think that are free to do so.) It may be somewhat like stepping through the fire, and coming out all the better for it. But then again, I did get squished. :)
Well, I believe awareness was raised. My own certainly was. And I now know that I am not the only one who has such ideas. With these things out in the open, people are talking, questions are being raised, and ideas presented. I'm even learning some new things myself. :)
So, how many times does that make this year that I've tried for something so far out of my league, that I knew going for it would just be foolish, but I did it anyway? Let's see... There was the time I sent my resume to eSoft. I knew there was no chance I'd actually get a job there, but what could sending an email hurt? After that, there was the salary negotiation, in which I pretty much made an idiot of myself, but it didn't turn out half bad. Then there was last month's... thing. lol. Silly me. Out of my league, and I knew it. But try I did. :) And now this week, where I open up my big mouth^H^H^H^H^H keyboard. And this time, I ain't sorry either. :)
Well, that's enough for tonight. Life sucks. Life rocks. Life goes on. And I wouldn't trade the one I have for anything else.
