[Van Halen: Balance. Track 7: Not Enough. Play. Repeat on. Single track.]

So I got this wacky idea for a Random Ramblings feature. [Increase volume] Sort of a twist on Jaeger's idea for a <censor> tag (which I don't want to do), but with a different, more general purpose: Inline differentiation of content. Information about different aspects of things, such as parenthetical statements, ideas about mood, the cd track that's playing, or odd tangents would each have a different tag surrounding them. Have a defined set of such tags, which could occassionally be added to when the need strikes, and they'd be printed (or not printed) in different colors, sizes, fonts, whatever.

Yeah, it's almost like a cascading style sheets thing. (In fact, using them in an implementation would be likely.) Except more: Like in user prefs (Version 2.0 before too long. Really!), people could select what styles to use to display different tag types, or if some readers are annoyed by my randomly inserting info about what cd I happen to be listening to, they could choose to filter certain tagged content out.

Cool, yes? Or it might just be another ridiculous idea to spring from the brain of Bitscape. If I really wanted to get crazy, I could define my own Random Ramblings DTD. Do it in XML. Yeah. :)

Well, maybe one of these days...

And just so people know, no, I wasn't attacked by any Borg drones today. Just thought everyone might like to hear that. No, actually I didn't think anyone would be concerned about it, but I felt like typing it anyway. If I run into any drones tomorrow and manage survive long enough to get back to my computer, I'll be sure to post the whole story here. :)

Trust No One

No no no, that's not my philosophy of life. It just happens to be what's printed on the back of my shirt. Should ramblings about wording printed on t-shirts also get their own tag? Hmmmm... :)

Well, I'm off to watch Buffy and Angel. Can't remember if there's anything new tonight or not. Guess I'll find out before long...

[Stop.]
