Ok, so I leave work today, and go directly to the post office. I had my handly little card which had come in the mail on Saturday, ready to present and receive my stuff. After waiting in line for 20 fscking minutes (although I guess that part is understandable, given the time of day) I give the card to the clerk.

I'm just sittin here wasting time drinking, smoking, trying to free my mind.

If and when Dagobah gets a connection to the outside world again, this rambling will be put up for public consumption by content vultures the world over. Right now, it's looking like that isn't likely to happen soon.

Ok, so today on my way home from work, I stopped by the post office to inquire about my package. Well, they checked it out. Nothing.

After checking the mail today (ya know, the physical kind), my stuff still hadn't arrived. So, feeling somewhat worried that the postal service might have screwed up, I sent an email to somebody inquiring about possible courses of action.

My brain and body are sleepy, but my mind is still uneasy, and so it is that I get out of bed to type this rambling, the pill having completely dissolved in my mouth moments ago.

Forming thought. Fragments. Wondering. Dreaming. Wishing. Scanning the horizon as time lapsed highway lights flicker by. (A recurring image used to mighty good effect in Boys Don't Cry, BTW.) Random. Rambling. Thinking.

Well, I just got done doing something I rarely do: Take a shower in the evening. But this was a time it was needed. When multiple layers of dried sweat have caked onto the skin, it's definitely one of those times.

Ok, I know it's slightly off-topic, but if anybody who read last night's rambling is wondering why the hell I would rent a movie on a day like today, here's the scoop: The case arrived, but nothing else. All the yummy guts were sent in a separate package, which will hopefully arrive early next week. So...

Just watched Boys Don't Cry again. Twice. First time, normal audio like before. Second time, with director's commentary track. Again, I'll say it: Wowee. What a movie. Methinks rookie director Kimberly Peirce could teach some people in Hollywood a few things about story telling. Talk about making the most of a very limited amount of time and budget! Lots of excellent insights into the characters and motivations on the track as well. /me enjoyed it mucho. Tomorrow morning, it goes back to Blockbuster.

Wowee. I had heard the second hand buzz about this one being good, but.... damn. That was riveting.

Ok, I'm hyped. Arrived home from work to find an email from someone, with text as follows: "Order is on the way. Thanks!!!!!" (As always, not mentioning names, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind if I threw in another link.) Big ole bucket of parts, on the way! Now it's just a matter of waiting for the snails to get it here. Soon, my room will have a new industrial strength heater to add to the mix. };>

In the fine dining department: I am currently working my way through the second plate of deliciously tantilizing spaghetti. Tonight, I decided it was time to do something other than my usual, so I decided to try a new close by venue: Blue Parrot. Now of course, the family has dined there before, so I knew of the quality of the food, but I had never obtained it via takeout.

Yes, as a matter of fact, Bitscape is very much alive and well. As indicated before though, certainly NOT having as much of an urge to constantly post ramblings lately. A good thing, or not? I have made it a point not to force myself to write stuff if I don't feel like it lately. May change that policy back in the future. May not. We'll see. Or maybe I've just got other, more urgent things to focus on during this period of my life. Hmmmm.

Lots of hype surrounding what pretty much amounts to a good movie, but not a great movie.

Alright, this rambling is very short, as I need my sleep. I spent the last 2.5 hours writing back-movielog entries, and debugging some of the more obscure parts of the movielog syncing code. Whew.

Strange would be the word.

Well, this has got to be the laugh out loud funny documentary of the year.

And here we have a movie which, let's face it, none of us would have any rememberence of today were it not for the identity of the co-star in the title role. (Or maybe some of us don't remember it. For those poor/enlightened souls, I will leave you to your ignorance. Or maybe I won't. We'll see if I can get all the way through this movielog entry without blurting it out.)

In case anyone's wondering: Yes, I did go on a bit of a Stanley Kubrick kick during the vacation over the 4th. :)

When I first saw this movie many a year ago, shortly after having read the book, I was... underwhelmed. I mean, I thought the effects were great and all, and the artistry was still simply amazing, but I thought it had many shortcomings when it came to relaying the story as I had read it. I suppose this happens to just about anyone when they read a book, and then later see the movie.

It unravels like a nightmare. Deja vu. If you haven't seen it before, you don't know what the hell is going on for at least the first half hour. But eventually, by the end, like a stroke of genius, it all makes sense.

Looks like Rage is back up. Again. We'll see how long it lasts this time.... Will it still be up by the time I finish this rambling? :)

It would appear that Rage has finally returned to its working glory. Now, let us all put on our penguin hats, roast the pig, and go dancing in the street until dawn... er, should that be "until it goes back down". Yeah. :)

Well, quite a while after midnight, actually, but.... hell if that really makes a difference.

Yes, it's the day of the month where I step through each of my New Year's resolutions, one by one. Lately, it seems to have gotten a little dull. The last few times, each one has gone something like, "Pretty much unchanged since last month, but I'm working on it. Really!" Bah.

(About the title: An optional "is" could be placed between the two words, lending it an alternative to the commonly accepted meaning.)
