After checking the mail today (ya know, the physical kind), my stuff still hadn't arrived. So, feeling somewhat worried that the postal service might have screwed up, I sent an email to somebody inquiring about possible courses of action.

This guy definitely lived up to the glowing reviews people had been giving. An response came in under a half hour, which I didn't even receive until just now, because I didn't even bother to check my email in between. (I suppose I would do well to set it up to forward from Rage to Illian to Dagobah.) Put my mind at ease. :)

Since it was insured, if the post office doesn't get it here within 30 days, then they will put a trace on it. They would be liable for damages if it was lost. But he isn't worried about it yet, because in all the thousands of packages he's shipped, they've only lost one.

Also got a tip: Check with the local post office again, and see if maybe they left one of the boxes on the shelf. Said that has happened before. Ya go in, have two packages waiting, and they only give you one of them. The other one gathers dust. I shall check that out pronto.

Mmm, yes. CompuCheap. Very excellent service, despite the less than upscale sounding name. I can hardly wait for those parts to come.... :)

Current events... Of course, Napster being shut down is a big one. I could say that this proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that the RIAA is composed of a bunch of slimey bastards, but we all already knew that, didn't we? :)

Speaking of mp3's, I was surfing around last weekend, and ran across the Official Hole site. LOTS of good live mp3's there, as well as other assorted stuff from the band. Seems that Courtney is indeed willing to practice what she preaches. Cool. (BTW, the live version of Northern Star, available for download, just ROCKS. I loved that song before, but the live version... wow.)

Bitscape will now do the unheard of: He will spend some time updating the Lounge code. Don't know how much will get done in the next hour or two, but anything is better than nothing, right?
