Strange would be the word.

An alcoholic and a pill popper ends up in the hospital from an overdose. His friend recommends that he join a support group. He goes to said support group, and the other members turn out to be... a bunch of psychopath freaks?!?

Ok, now I'm probably somewhat biased toward generosity in my ratings from having seen the lives of the people who made this film on the American Movie documentary. I'll give it this though: It does have a certain uniqueness.

I suppose it could be said that what might normally be classified as numerous continuity errors actually add to the whole psychedelic feel of the thing. The high contrast black and white does also give it a spooky feel.

But still, my favorite line is the very first one (due in no small part to seeing the audio recorded in no less than... was it 30 takes on the American Movie documentary? Uncle Bill.... What a character):

"It's alright! It's okay! There's something to live for! Jesus told me so!"
