These days, I feel like I've become a member of some sort of amateur armchair music critics society. Like they say, it's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it.
Pump up the sound. Now.
Thank you.
My, my, my. Some weeks go slow, and some go by blazingly fast. This week would fall squarely into the "fast" category. It's Thursday evening already. Unbelievable.
A couple weeks ago, I ordered several Loki games from EBgames during the $10/each sale. So far, the only one I've actually played has been Heavy Gear 2. It's quite involved. Having gotten most of the basic controls mastered, I'm close to making it through all the basic training courses. Right now, I'm on the one where you have to shoot down all those buildings, and avoid all the guard bots patrolling around them. I make it a little farther each time I try, but I have yet to hit all of the targets before something notices and blows me to smithereens.
Going back to a time years ago, when I was a youngin', in a time before I was legally allowed to drive, and a PC at home was waaay beyond my budget. Nintendo was my world. Zelda. Metroid. Dragon Warrior. Final Fantasy II. My brother and I used to spend hours upon hours every night playing those games. Searching for the secrets. Buying the magazines and tip books. Playing through the quests over and over again.
The games were not just some diversion, as they are for me today. They were a central component of life.
Now I'm boring everybody, aren't I? Reminiscing is a funny thing.
I think I'll game a little before bed.
