No, that title doesn't make any sense, nor is it a reference to anything known to me. Trying to write sensible titles to ramblings which have essensially no unique content has become tiresome. Hence, I have now taken up the practice of making up random words and syllables and stringing them together. Welcome to the 21st century.
Tonight, in non-celebration of the pending departure from the WB, I watched Buffy and Angel.
Afterwards, sitting in my room listening to Enya, I formulated a theory regarding what makes both shows great. What it is about them that has kept me coming back for more (at least part of the time). Well, there may be many things, but a recurring theme was brought to light in my mind tonight.
Very frequently, the real power of intrigue -- the psychological zinger that hits you upside the head at the end of an episode -- often results from a character who the audience had previously believed was evil through and through, turns out to shine with some streak of greatness. Done in a way which totally catches you off guard emotionally. And it's 100% believable for the character(s) in question.
It's a recurring theme that happens over and over (but in different ways), but somehow, it doesn't lose its power, at least the way these shows do it. Lindsey. Spike. Faith. Heck, even Angel.
Well, anyway, I just thought I'd share that non-revelation with the non-masses. Do with it what you will. Or don't. I don't care.

Three days later, and I still haven't finished the Starfest summary. Perhaps that is one disadvantage of doing it the Content Collective way. But then again, this way I don't stay up all night long doing one massive block of incomprensible text soup. Besides that, there have already been other people posting a few side comments next to some of the things I said. That, IMO, is a very excellent advantage to collective content.
I'll finish it tonight after this rambling. I swear.

Should I babble about how my life has seemed rather stagnant lately?
Nah. That gets old.
...
Poe just freaks me out, man.
No, not really. But the music is... rather... haunting.
<sarcasm>
Ha ha ha.
</sarcasm>
Yeah, I bought the Poe Haunted cd yesterday. In one way, I'm glad. In another way, I'm bummed. See, I'm glad because I like the music. I bought it because (a) I liked the Hey Pretty song as heard on the radio, and (b) because bouncing had recently purchased the disc himself, and highly recommended it. He also said that it 2 different mixes of the Hey Pretty song came on the disc. Very cool. This brings me to why I'm bummed.
I bought my disc, brought it home, and listened to it. I only heard 1 mix of the Hey Pretty song. The album version. Not the 2001 remix. Not a trace of it. bouncing and I compared our disc covers, and they were identical in all respects except one: The 2001 Remix was not in the track listing on mine. Doh! So what's the deal, anyway? I don't know, but I still like the music I do have. Oh well. Maybe I'll grab it off of Opennap. I wouldn't feel 1 bit guilty for doing so either.
On second thought, maybe I'll just borrow bouncing's disc and make a high quality ogg of my own. That would be even better.
Alright, enough senseless babble. I promised I'd finish my summary, and that's what I intend to do. Off to the Collective!
Cause you break me open
Wild
Cause you left me here
I go wild
Cause your promises are broken
Wild
When I know you're near
I go wild
I go wild
