Release Early, Release Often

The Collective Code, and all of the (I think) supporting modules I use are now downloadable from the web site. I did minimal manicuring on it. Or should I say, No Manicuring? ;)

Yes, some of it's pretty nasty. About what I was referencing earlier: Jaeger has written code which generates a satellite image map. That has not yet been integrated into this release. (hmmmm. It would seem I forgot to give any of it a version number. Oh well. Call this release pre-pre-whatever. pre a release with a version number.)

I now experience on a personal level why some organizations must be nervous about releasing code: It's just so damn UGLY! Hacks, workarounds, and things that make you think, "Did I actually write this? What the hell was I thinking at the time?"

When it's tucked away in my private little tree, there's not much embarrassment to worry about. When you put it out for the whole world to see... ew. Naked code with hair on its back and warts on its ass.

Alright, enough babbling. I'm going to bed.

(Oh yeah. You might notice that the Lounge code isn't there just yet. It's WAY too damn ugly, and I'm too tired for that tonight. And there's other complications to deal with there too. That will be later.)

Past my bedtime. Shutdown.
