Well, now I feel like I've accomplished something. This is good. :)

I downed a small pile of piles last night, and went to bed ridiculously early (before 20:00). Slept several hours, woke up for a while in the middle of the night, but eventually managed to get back to sleep without additional chemical intervention.

Today, waking up this morning I felt MUCH better. Almost like a normal person. I was a little worried that (a) the medications wouldn't be effective, and I'd continue my downward mental slide, and/or (b) the side effects would annoy the hell out of me. Neither turned out to be the case. So as not to jinx things, I think I'd better be getting to bed tonight pretty soon too.

Perphenazine (and associated other stuff to counteract its highly unpleasant side-effects, and the side effects of those, etc) is nasty, but sometimes a good thing. Technically, I'm sure I'm commiting a horrible sin in the eyes of the medical community, as I "should" be consulting a doctor before self-prescribing myself 7-year-old leftover drugs out of the closet. But right now, I must make do with what I have. May it be enough.

(I know that those drugs are not something to mess with casually. As with a gun, you learn to appreciate them when you have experienced some of the more unpleasant outcomes first hand. See also: dystonic reaction. i.e. use with great care.)

I got a moderate amount of work done today, though I wouldn't describe myself as outstandingly productive. But the jittery hints foreashadowing a nasty episode that I was feeling yesterday have left me. I'm still opting for caution, and will be downing a few more pills tonight (though perhaps not quite as many), and more lithium for the foreseeable future.

I thought about going to hacking society, but couldn't muster the motivation to drive to Boulder tonight. My chair here is comfy, and I wasn't feeling all that sociable.

Anyway, off to bed for better health, and undoubtedly more crazy stuff to happen with the servers tomorrow.
