As attentive content vultures might have predicted, Bitscape went to the club again for more music, adventures, beautiful people, mayhem, and insanity. Well, maybe not mayhem. But the insanity index was definitely above average this evening.

Well, as if we didn't already know, the White House and Congress have proven that they are full of flaming idiots. Heh. Let's be inflamatory now.

I may be a Buffyholic, but I know for a fact that I am not the worst case in the world. We will not be mentioning any names here today.

An excellent movie. This log entry should be longer, but Bitscape is very unmotivated today.

You know it's time for an update when you load your own page and get an Internal Server Error because the script hit an error condition never discovered before: Something that could only happen when nothing has been posted in over a week, so there are no headlines to display on the front page. Well, at least that bug was easy to hunt and fix. But geez, some of that old lounge code is nasty. What was I thinking when I wrote all that awful crap? Eeek.

The entire Bitscape's Lounge codebase should be rewritten in Java. Yeah, that's the solution!

Getting exercise is so much easier during summer. And tons more fun too. I took a jog after work today. Perfect weather as late afternoon twilight sun cast shadows over the land of Westminster. I had the rhythm. It felt so good, I did a second lap. I must have sweated a good pint per minute toward the end there. Yes!

Alright, I know it's been ages since I did a real update. So I figure since despite the lateness of the hour, now is as good a time as any.

Normally, this sort of tiny tale would go in the Content Collective. But seeing as it still isn't running (maybe this evening, if I get efficient), here it is.

Well, I had some good dancing for a couple hours tonight. Then, after several songs of fairly vigorous movement, I sat down to rest for a few minutes. When I stood back up, my lower back told me something wasn't right. Uh oh.

It's Friday. This Friday is slightly unusual in that it ends the first full work week under the "new order", so to speak. And here I sit, seemingly unable to think except to be entranced by the thought of whether No Doubt has truly and totally sold out. (Or if the concept of "selling out" really even has any meaning, or ever did.)

And now, it's Thursday. Can it really be Thursday, going on Friday already? Yes, it can. How 'bout that. This could also be referred to as the "don't tell anybody I told you this in an email" week. (And no, I'm NOT referring what I sent to / received from you, whoever "you" are who happens to be reading this right now. I'm referring to something entirely different. Believe me.)

Life is so utterly bizarre, I cannot even begin to put it into words, nor would I always want to try.

Since I am now aware that it is undisputably public knowledge, I'm going to go ahead and comment directly about recent events.

Alan W. Watts. The Wisdom of Insecurity.

A murder mystery drama set in the northern Alaskan summer, where the sun is out 24 hours a day. Al Pacino plays a sleepless detective on the case of a teenage girl who was brutally beaten to death and then carefully manicured in ultra-creepy fashion.

Alright, so this one's getting typed up a little late. (As in, over a week later.) Well, we went to IMAX to watch the reconstruction of the Alamo battle. Since there were no survivors on the Texan side, nobody knows what really happened, but this movie tries its best to paint a picture of the events that transpired. Well, sort of. It does so with an extra large double dipping of cheesy dialog, emotional manipulation ("aw look; he's holding the hand of a child before going off to battle, therefore that must be one of the good guys"), and lofty platitudes.

This is gonna be brief, because I need to go to bed. But since I seem to have taken it on as my duty to write about such stuff here, I'll share a little anecdote from tonight.
