Due for another one

[In a window directly beneath this one, the Charlie's Angel's credits roll. To the right, an idle irc window now occupied by only me and Linknoid.]
It's been a while since I typed a rambling, so I figured I'd squeeze one in just before bed. Probably going to end up being mostly nothing, but that's ok.
Topic: Charlie's Angels. As this semi-background viewing of the movie drew to a close, I realized on a conscious level what is wrong with this movie. I'm not talking about filming technique, acting, special effects, continuity (does such a thing even exist in the Charlie's Angel's universe?) or any of that jazz. I'm talking about the fundamental idea.
Behind all the glamour, glitz, and butt-kicking, what the movie portrays are three fully grown and "empowered" (assuming that is the "in" term to use) women. Three fully grown women, who, despite their physical prowess, have the emotional and mental maturity of five-year-olds. At most.
The first time I watched it, there was a little "There's something wrong with this picture" vibe going through the back of my brain, but I couldn't quite place what it was. Now I know. So I'm happy.
Five-year-olds trapped in the bodies of people 20+ years older than they are. The concept was executed at least as well as any scifi film could have, except they didn't bother to inform the audience that these children's brains had been transplanted. We get to figure that out for ourselves as part of the mystery. And not only that, but there is no happy ending where they are all returned to their rightful coporeal shells. Instead, we are left to ponder. Brilliant.
Oh, what a great (and did I mention cheesy?) movie it was. Now let's move on.
[Yes, it is obvoiusly very late at night.]
So, the big news is, of course, that tomorrow (actually later today), Neelix's wedding commences. In fact, I better get some sleep before too much longer so I can at least be somewhat awake for the event.
Yesterday, I gave Tobias bigger dose of TLC that he's had in a while. An oil change, a vacuuming and nice long wash, and a resupply of air for the tires. A good thing.
My room is also much cleaner than it was. It's been needing that for a while. I've been neglecting it. The new arrangement is much better, I think. I'll need to move my tv back in here to see for sure. It's been out in the family room for over a week now while I meshed things around and procrastinated.
Yes, I think it would be best for my brain if I slept. I shall be doing so momentarily.
Oh, but one more thing. A Saturday night / Sunday morning rambling wouldn't be complete if it didn't include at least some comment about the Xena episode. Soul Possession. The last episode before the 2-part series finale begins next week. The return of Mattie, Annie, and Harry. Guaranteed fun there. My favorite moment: When Ares switched their souls into the "right" bodies during the last act. "Yeeeaaah" And we finally got an answer to the gaping-wide plot hole of Gabby and Hope's survival that fans have been complaining about since the beginning of Season 4. I'm not sure I really like it, but it passes as entertainment. This revelation also explains a LOT about much Ares' behavior over the past 2 seasons. (And what an odd coincidence that the topic of this episode would happen to be about a marraige. Great timing.)
What exactly am I talking about? How should I know? I'm going to bed.
