Bitscape buys Mulder food, rearranges room (sort of)

Tonight when I went to the store, I got a nice BIG bag of sunflower seeds, so this time, I hopefully won't run out so quickly. Seeds are so great! They taste yummy, you can eat through many an X Files episode without getting full (or reaching the bottom of the bag), and as a souvenir, you get a nice big pile of remains after you're done. (A feature, not a bug. Hah!)

The Lair is in a state of partial rearrangement. Right now, what I have is an even huger mess. Dresser has been moved. Bed is standing up on its end, and the floor is covered with all sorts of crap. We'll see how this setup works out when I finish. Meanwhile, I have no place to sleep. lol.

Welcome to the underachievers society of America. My accomplishment for the day: A dresser moved, and piles of crap moved around on the floor. Oh, and I did play through a couple games of Alpha Centauri. Timesink. And a couple of nice long naps.

My posters. I've taken them down again. It just felt wierd having them on the walls. Most represented fanships to various tv shows which are either now off the air, will be very soon, or are becoming mere shadows of their former selves... Surrounding my abode with such icons makes me feel like I am living in some almost forgotten past. I don't like it. With one exception, my walls are now free of decoration.

I find myself in a nostalgic mood right now. This, most likely, was largely triggered my tonight's "special presentation" of the Xena pilot, Sins of the Past. Wierd. How many years ago was it? (Almost) Six, of course. Where was I in life when that episode first aired? What journies have I taken during that time? Where will I be six years from now? Where do I want to be six years in the future?

Blankness.

[Bitscape surfs for a while.]

Oh great. It seems that the wave of overly obnoxious style ads to which Salon fell prey has now infected ign.com. Not the simple, slightly annoying but tolerable banner ads of old. Big, obnoxious, flashing cheerleader cleavage right in the middle of an artile. A sad trend, but unavoidable, I suppose. If the web sites we love to read are to stay afloat, how else can they make enough money to sustain themselves?

Well, at least Salon is trying to offer an alternative with their subscription service. I personally haven't subscribed because... well, while I enjoy reading it, I don't see it being worth signing up to pay $30/year for. Or maybe it is worth it, but...

I have started another rambling in progress. So I will now end this one. lol.
