As the Disc Turns...

And so, I must admit the obvious, and say that my ramblings frequency seems to have decreased of late. As to the true reason for this, speculation abounds (or so my own mind would have me believe), but a single conclusive answer has yet to be found. Carry on.
I would say full-on Alpha Centauri addiction set in a couple nights ago. The more you play, the more you want to play. It's a vicious cycle.
The only thing that's managed to temporarily break it have been periodic DVD viewings. Last night, on my way home from work I was listening to The Peak. Nina and whats-his-face were interviewing Martin Gore of Depeche Mode over the phone phone about their upcoming album and tour. On implulse, I made a stop at Best Buy and bought the 86-98 compilation of Depeche Mode music videos + short documentary film (I had been eyeing it a few weeks ago, but resisted tempation at that time). Good stuff. Lotsa music. Lotsa footage. I dig.
This evening, being overdue for a Dark City viewing, I proceeded to watch that film again too. It doesn't get old. A classic.
Plans for this weekend? I have doused myself with entertainment media saturation of every form. This is good. It feels good. Perhaps almost too good. But we need that sometimes, don't we? Or do we? I babble incoherently.
At any rate, I feel that just a little bit of balance is called for. Just a little. Between Alpha Centauri sessions, web surfing, and DVD viewings, I want to make myself go out in the sunshine just a short while, at least. Although it may be difficult, and require great willpower initially, I think my soul will thank me in the long run. The brief bits of time I have spent in the fresh spring air (walking to and from the car) have whetted my appetite. So I'm going to spend some time doing something outdoors. That's weekend resolution #1.
Weekend resolution #2: Content Collective coding. Jaeger submitted a patch last weekend, which I believe will be a very worthy enhancement to the Content Collective's usability status. Me being me, I want to do some twiddling with it before putting it into the main tree. This weekend would be a good time for that. Oh, and release an updated source tarball too, since the one currently on the site is kind of old. That's #2. And that's it.
Now, in the words of the Strangers...
Sleep.
