Bitscape takes matters into his own hands

Well, assuming it's all propagated nicely. The address itself should have had plenty of time by now. The updated ns record for the zone might take a bit longer. (But that part shouldn't matter too much to you end users out there, cause the cached IP would still be the same as it was 42 hours ago.)
Right now, it's pretty much the same thing as the Lounge on Rage -- sans Content Solutions and Content Collective. I stubbed those out, because I think it would be confusing and annoying to have two parallel versions in production simultaniously. And the nightmare of trying to keep both versions synchronized when multiple users can enter stuff into either end... let's not go there.
So yes, nothing too exciting yet. Just a stripped down Lounge, although it does have the advantage of being accessible no the non-absurd people of the world. :)
I'll probably be adding more special stuff in the future, as well as mucking around with Argo's virtual hosts a bit more.
Yes, that's right. It's running off Argo. The very same horse^H^H^H^H^H host that sits in my bedroom, plays my ogg and mp3 files, shows Farscape episodes, runs my vim sessions, Quake3 matches, and wakes me up on time for work every morning. So, to quote Argo's owner: "Be nice!"
And what has Bitscape been doing this weekend? If the above isn't some clue, I suppose I can spell it out a bit more.
- 2.4.0. That should need to further explanation.
- Sleep. A given.
- Reading the grasshopper book I bought last night. Yes indeed.
- Finishing what I started with the Lair on New Year's day. Gradually getting the trash buffer cleared out, bit by bit. Hanging my posters. That new poster tape I bought at Wal Mart worked no better than the old crap. Worthless. I finally resorted to the old tried and true method (but slightly more intrusive) of using pushing tacks into the wall.
- Somewhat related to items above: Getting my iptables firewall script tweaked nicely. I already had most of it from when I was running Argo as the router before. Just clean, polish, and add a rule here and there.
- Once I was relatively happy with my firewall, and had bind configured to my liking, time to get the authority for the bitscape.org zone switched over. Like I said, that might take a little time to propigate.
- Watch an X Files episode. (Fearful Symmetry)
- Spend a few minutes throwing a few lines into my Apache config files for the virtual host. I'm sure I overlooked something.
- Watch the first act of the Xena rerun. Get antsy because they're playing a way-old Season 5 episode, made during that streak when writing was less than stellar.
- Return to Argo. Hack up the Lounge code to blank out the parts we haven't figured out what we're doing with yet.
- Make an announcement in a rambling, and hope I didn't forget anything stupid. (Ironically, this announcement can only be read by those who would gain the least benefit from it.)
That's my weekend so far.
What I'd like to do tomorrow:
- Give poor Tobias that oil change.
- Get the rest of the junk out of the trash buffer.
- Fix up my domain some more.
- Code. If I get around to it.
Well, the yawnies are hitting me again. (A "yawnie" should not be confused with the artist whose name phonetically matches it.) Although... might not hurt to listen to a little of that while I go to sleep. Perhaps.
