Those who have been reading this page for very long know what that means. It's time to check on New Year's Resolutions. Woohoo!

This year, I shall find a real job.
Ha ha. Ding dong. 100%

This year, I shall buy a new desktop PC.
As before, nothing new here. It's on hold for the short term. 1%

This year, I shall find a girlfriend.
Ho hum. Not a single iota in recent times. In regard to a few comments I've made here recently (and also, ones made not so recently) on this topic, I think the following phrase, cliché"d though it may be, applies: "Beggers can't be choosers."
Who me? A begger? No, never! Doh! You mean I am? Noooooooooooo... Waaaaahaaahaaahaaahaaaahaa. Boohooohoooo. This can't be happening. No, not to me. I swore never. Never! NEVER, I SAY! Nooooooo. Not a begger. Anything but that!
Ok, I'm under control again. :)

This year, I shall find more avenues other than the Internet to channel my self expression.
Ok, I'm going to be generous on this one. Very generous. I'll make the (il)logical leap and say that acquiring a car is a significant step in this direction. Ok, maybe in and of itself, it's not that huge of a step, but it does allow much more opportunity in this regard. OTOH, taking much advantage of that opportunity is still to be seen. 15%

This year, I shall obtain lodging of my own.
I project that over the course of this month of May, preliminary investigation into this shall begin to take place. In the month of June, deeper research is likely to occur. Depending upon how this research goes, July, August, or September may see more concrete progress take place. We'll have to wait and see. But as of now, still... 0%

Be true, honest to myself.
Somewhere over the rainbow... As always, trying to asses this one seems a bit difficult. I think I'm making it though. don't open your eyes you won't like what you see. the blind have been blessed with security. don't open your eyes. take it from me. i have found you can find happiness in slavery. --nin 70%
I really wish I had some more to say, or some nice little package of words to conclude this with. Unfortunately, I think that the ramblings pool of inspiration has been hitting the dry side lately (last week, I found myself scraping the bottom of the Lazarus Bowl for something almost resembling content, which turned out kinda pathetic IMO). Perhaps the creative spark in this programmer is going on hiatus for a while. It does that sometimes. (I like to believe that as human beings, we all have a capacity for great creativity; sometimes, it just gets buried, or the fuel runs low. Call me a New Age nut if you want.)
As a result, I may not be posting stuff here as frequently. Better no content than stupid content? Debatable. So anyway, if nothing appears for a long long time, just think of it as an extended Week of the Living Dead. OTOH, if by some miracle, I come home from work tomorrow with a great idea for something to write, I'll put it up. I'm just not gonna try to come up with something to say when there is nothing there.
How's that for a conclusion?
