not tonight
josephine
in an army's strength
therein lies the denouement
from here you're haunting me
by the seine
so beautiful
only not to be of use
impossible

so strange victory
1200 spires
the only sound moscow burning
emptly like the tuileries
like a dream vienna seems
only not to be of use
impossible

in the last extremity
to advance or not to advance
i hear you laughing

even still you're calling me
not tonight
not tonight
not tonight josephine

Tori... Tori... Tori.... I think that may be my favorite song off the Venus studio disc. Maybe. There's just something about it. The music mostly, but the lyrics too. Even though I really have no idea what it's about, the words are just so... haunting. Just leaves me feeling so... empty. But in a powerful way. I dunno. Music is wacky stuff.

Well, my inspiration hasn't entirely dried up. When I came home today, even before surfing around to some of the other nodes on the metaphorical web ring, I was in the mood to start a nice little little entry here again. One which might even contain some content other than commentary about recent tv shows. :)

But then, a funny thing happened. I got inspired to... (gasp)... take a walk outside in the sunshine for a few minutes. Of all the unheard of things to do! lol. Well, it didn't last too long. I guess that's obvious, since I'm now sitting back here again. Oh dear, oh dear! How horribly out of shape I am. Is there any hope? Perhaps not. lol again.

Yadda yadda... Well, the mail server where I work was down for a significant portion of the day. Anybody care to guess why? Hahaha. And yes, productivity around the office was at a record high during that time! Coincidence? But of course it is. ;)

I suppose in the interest of vindicating the people I work around on a daily basis, I will say that the source of the... ahem... problem... ahem... originated from a certain OTHER end of the building. Not mentioning any department names, of course (cause ya'll could figure it in a snap anyway. ;)

Before, it was Melissa. Now, it's this. And what will it be next month? Or the month after? I find it simultaniously amusing and baffling that the very people who stand to suffer the most from this kind of crap are -- very often, it would seem -- the same ones who repeatedly refuse to correct the problem. If you must use software made by a company which has a widespread reputation for chronically ignoring security and stability concerns, at least spend five minutes to rtfm and/or set the options which are so conveniently available from those nice pretty pulldown menus! Aw well. Not my shit, so I best just leave it alone. :)

On the plus side, I think it's good that stuff like this happens every now and then. Keeps life from getting boring. I mean, of all the good "office chatter" laughs I've had today, the vast majority have had something to do with this horrid catastrophy. Of course, I might not feel that way if I was the poor schmuck who had to admin the mail server. But I'm not, so Hee Hee Hee... :)

I was also thinking about making some sort of comment in response to today's Katz article, but I just decided I'm not really in the mood anymore. To do so would require digging up some of that anti-corporate angst, which I just don't feel like doing again. Besides, it's time to go find some food. Mmmmmm... The idea of jumping into the mobile audio experience on wheels in a quest for nourishment at twilight doesn't sound half bad right now. So what am I waiting for? We're off! :)
