And so, another week reaches its end -- time to kick back, grab a (beer|dew|tranquilizer|hyperstimulant), throw on a few tunes, do a lil surfin, maybe write a few lines of code, watch a lil quality television programming, and maybe, just maybe (brace yourselves), get a lil exercise in the sunshine (horror of horrors). Nah. Or maybe really so! :)

I suppose my mood right now could be described as relatively relaxed, which was better than I could say 2+ hours ago. Came home feelin like utter shit physically. Remember those neck pains I mentioned around a month ago, which had happily gone away? Unfortunately, they've been gradually returning over the course of this week. Nothing bad at all for most of the week, but today, the pain index went up, while the range of mobility in my neck once again became severely constricted.

Well, anyway, let's just say it become difficult to be productive when in such a state. That coupled with my stupid allergic nose. Dripin like a leaky faucet in between sneezes. Uggh. My nose will be glad when the months of May and June are over. I guess I should be glad my allergies are usually nothing more than a mild irritation, which is better than some people have it. Still, it's annoying.

So anyway, when I got home, I hit the bed with a soft thud, adjusted my head a bit, and fell asleep (all without even logging into Dagobah. Horror of horrors). That was a Good Thing.

Now, although my nose is still somewhat plugged, and my neck's movement is still limited (although not quite as bad as when I left work), my mood is a few notches better, as I stated above.

This morning, while in the shower, I had what might be described as an epiphany about the Bitscape's Lounge 2.0 code. Well, actually, not the code itself, but the interface and layout. See, while it's true that part of what has been preventing the release has been code bugs, part of it also has to do with the fact that I haven't really been happy with the layout of things. Too slashdot-ish, I think. (Gee, I wonder why! ;)

So anyway, a fairly clear picture formed in my mind of what I'd want this thing to look like. And I thought, "Maybe, just maybe, this weekend..." :) But then the neck pains had me worried that trying to concentrate on coding while sitting upright might not be such a good idea. Now, I'm thinking, "Maybe. Just maybe..." I think last night's little contest may have inspired me somehow. Not totally useless after all, perhaps? ;)

I suppose if I were going to do a rant tonight, an appropriate topic might again be idiot users and their idiot mail clients. Yep, my work account was down again for several hours, this time, because administrators wanted to be "proactive". (unfortunately, not everybody defines "proactive" as discontinuing use of crappily designed software and/or clubbing those too stupid to be allowed near a computer over the head with a large, dense, and preferably heavy piece of wood.)

Ok, new subject. Actually, I don't think there is one. I am beginning to get slightly hungry though. Maybe a quick trip to the drivethru would be in order. Yes, I think it would. I'll leave the other semi-philosophical ponderings for later. :)
