Thursday goodness

This afternoon, scott and I had a meeting at our usual spot: the kitchen of everyone's favorite data center. We discussed work-related matters, as well as other stuff.

I transferred into his possession the first wave of revolutionary propaganda, so he can also partake in its goodness.

In the evening, I went to BLUG. Rebecca Sobol gave a talk on Linux distributions. Though very little of it was new information to me, it was still worth going, because at the end, she gave everyone in attendance a code that could be used for a free trial subscription to LWN.

(I used to be a regular LWN reader back in the days when it was free. I probably would have become a subscriber when they switched over, except that it happened at the inopportune time right when I lost my job, and I had to pinch my pennies, so I fell out of the habit of reading it at all.)

Jaeger and Zan Lynx also showed up part way through the meeting. Jaeger had brought along Kiesa's new laptop, which looked quite fancy.

Afterwards, we went to Caffe Sole to hang out for a while. I ended up leaving with a nice full sack of free bagels.

In just a moment, I'm going to test the latest little hack that I just cobbled together. If this works (and why would it not?), every rambling I type from now on will be simulposted to livejournal without any extra effort on my part. Thus, my empire of sites with tiny little readerships whose numbers I can count on my fingers expands yet again!

I was thinking about babbling philosophically, but... I think I'll save that for later. I'll be heading on to bed before long...
