[This is a repost of what I just said on kenkinder.com, with a few minor tweaks and added background info.]
To adopt a B5 phrase, I too believe that Dean is "our last, best hope for peace", along with a whole lot of other things America needs.
I received the emails about what will either become Dean's final showdown, or the first great portion of the resurgance. It's going to be Wisconson or bust. The good news is that according to the most recent email I got, they've already broken half a million dollars today. The goal was to raise 700,000 by Sunday to advertise in Wisconson. Looking now at the website, they've already gone over the 700k goal, and have set a new mark to try to double it. The supporters are definitely there!
(I'd throw in some more myself if I weren't so cash strapped, with a self-imposed directive not to assume any more personal debt. Even still, I'm tempted to break my vow just for this most pivotal point in the campaign.)
Whether he succeeds in Wisconson and goes on to beat all odds and get the nomination or not, there is no question that Dean and his supporters have had a significant and positive impact on the political landscape. Kerry's recent parroting of so many Dean speech lines is proof of that.
Dean is the closest thing we have to a hero in the national political system right now. I don't want to give him up, or see him give up either. Go Dean!
