This one will be shorter. I promise.
Leaving doesn't seem so strange
I am hoping I can find
Where to leave my hurt behind
All the shit I seem to take
All alone I seem to break
I have lived the best I can
Does this make me not a man?
Best Korn song ever.
This article hits home for me. Welcome to my world. (I can say from personal experience that Part 1 was very accurate. Luckly, I am not afflicted with the symptoms described in Part 2.)
Last night, I filed my federal taxes using eztaxreturn. (I've been a happy user for the past 3 years now. When I first started filing online way back when, it was the only tax website I could find that didn't care which browser I was using. Unlike several others I tried at the time, which wanted me to go back to Netscape 4 and then didn't even work with that, this one just worked without problems. So it's sort of become my default at tax time, even if some of the others might have caught up by now.)
Pleasantly, I'll be getting a federal refund this year. A somewhat small one compared to the amount that was deducted from my paychecks, but a refund it will be. (On the state side, I ended up with the state owing me $2. Rather than bother with depositing it, I decided to let it be contributed to the homeless fund.)
Looks like my federal refund will be about enough to cover a B5 season 2 set, plus the Xena season 1 set. Not too shabby after all. :)
(Is that a flimsy excuse to justify my entertainment expenses addiction, or what?)
It's also fairly likely that I'll be going skiing with dad again tomorrow. That's likely to be fun. Just in time to recover from the peeling sunburns I got on my face from last week's adventure. Goodie.
In other news, my job sucks more than ever. I was thinking about elaborating, but really, I don't feel like dwelling on it at length right now. Executive summary: The out-of-state pigs who run mega-corpartions are small-minded, stingy bastards. No way around it. Also, see rambling title. That's all I'll say about that right now.
I need to sleep now, if I'm going to wake up and be on the slopes in the morning. Peace and goodnight.
