Down, but not out

Well, here it is. Middle of the month. October 15. I have no job. Two weeks to clear the apartment. A load of furniture that needs to be removed. Still no clear idea on exactly where I'm going to stay after this. We will now operate under the assumption that I'm fucked.

Here, off the top of my head, an incomplete list of what needs to be done:

  • Find new homes for all my pieces of furniture and other random items. Throw away whatever can't be sold, given away, or fit into my car. Details TBD RSN.
  • Get all my important data on Argo backed up to Dagobah. I may not be able to access it for a while, but I'd like my personal digital history safe for later.
  • Move this website and the Content Collective over to their new home on buildmeasite. I'd also like to revive the web-based admin interface, so that I'll be able to enter content from anywhere I can get to a web browser. I may be out of a home, but I don't intend for this web space to die.
  • Cancel everything. Use the cash and money coming from buildmeasite to pay off everything I currently owe (with the exception of Tobias's loan, which will come due later), and live within my means, even if they are nothing.
  • Keep looking and applying for a job. I may be out of a place for a while, but I don't intend for it to be forever. Besides, if I can find a minimum wage job to work, that will at least be money to eat. (Hmmm... I would like to keep my cell phone alive too. Maybe I can do that.)
  • Work with Jaeger and scottgalvin.com to ensure that they can make use of everything I've done on buildmeasite. There's some loose ends in my code that still need to be wrapped up. I don't want to leave scottgalvin.com high and dry either, because he's been awesome through all this. Since I won't be able to work on it anymore if I have no net connection, I need to get all that I've done into a fully workable state.
  • Survive.

Alright, that's all I can think of for now. I'll spare the attempts at philosophizing, or talk about what a toilet the world can be sometimes. Life is an adventure. On an adventure, things don't always go the way you plan or want them to. So be it.

Peace.
