Job fair

Today, Jaeger and I went to Fort Collins, where we met scottgalvin.com and went to a job fair he had discovered at the CSU campus.
It was educational, if only to further assure me that the chances of finding any employment prospects in the tech industry are zero to none. Most of the tech companies at the fair were not even hiring until at least next year, despite the fact that it was a job fair. Doh.
After wandering around at the fair for a while, handing out resumes to places that didn't seem so eager to hire, scottgalvin.com bought us lunch at Q'Doba. Then, a brief stop at the post office to check scott's mail box, and Jaeger and I headed back to the south again.
Honestly, right now I'm feeling very bummed about the whole job hunting situation. I don't know how things are going to work out. Sometimes I just wish I could crawl into a cave, go into a cryogenic freeze for 100 years, and wake up in a world where my apparent worth as an able contributor to society is not so completely extraneous.
Bah. Who am I kidding? In 100 years, the whole world will probably be run by robots, and the human population as a whole will be completely obliviated from the process. 100% unemployment. 99% poverty.
Ok, so maybe I've been filling my brain with too much pseudo-scifi anime.
Anyway, I guess I'm pretty much stuck in this world, fucked up as it may be, so I'm going to have to deal with it. I've known this all along, though it's sometimes difficult to face. So.... What will it be next month?
A menial job, a life on the streets, or becoming a moocher? I guess it won't be too long before I find out.
One thing I know though: I don't want this web site to go dark. Call that a motivation.
