I would agree with Salon. Yes, that was one hell of a season finale last night.
The Enterprise finale tonight was... well... kinda lukewarm, IMO.
Meanwhile, Bitscape will be heading to San Antonio tomorrow...
Ok, that opener was a bit too long (if there's anybody who surfs the Lounge cover page leadin). But I just had to cover all the little basics. Therefore, I am using my magical time traveling ability to go back, re-edit the text, and move the rest of the second paragraph below this one. Now, you'll never know. Hah!
I mostly quit watching Enterprise in the middle of the season, but caught the finale tonight. I guess the whole time traveler temporal war concept seems a little tired and used up. The acting was good though. If only they'd make key plot points out of what was happening during the formation of the federation and all that, instead of (re)using predictable plot lines about 31st century visitors. A lot of potentially strong material in the Enterprise concept, but it seems wasted on these writers.
It occurs to me that so far this week, I've watched at least 1 television finale each evening (more or less). Crazy, eh? Well, maybe not.
I should be packing right now. If I were really conscientious, I would already be packed by now. But I'm not. I'm sitting around like a fool, procrastinating. Well, at least I have an excuse. The laundry isn't done yet. Yeah, that's it.
The plan is to leave work at noon tomorrow, and head south. (Hmmm... I suppose I should plot the course. An online map might be useful for that.) I will drive, drive, drive into the night, until I get tired. Then I will sleep.
I will wake up and drive some more. Then, sometime on Friday afternoon, I will arrive in the land of the great picante sauce, where I will meet with bouncing and my parents, who are already there. Through Memorial day. Hah. How crazy.
Last night, I did manage to get the Content Solutions chatter archive merged into Argo's database. So now it can be browsed with the corresponding past Lounge content, just like it used to be on bitscape.festing.org.
I still don't have the Content Collective online. I kind of need to rethink the databases/directory structures on Argo, so the main Collective and the test collective don't pollute each other. Unfortunately, that probably won't happen until I get back from my trip. Sucks to have it down like that for so long. If only there were more hours in the day...
Oh, but I did get to listening to a bit of the other free disc I got last weekend. I must say I'm impressed. Not a single artist I've heard of is on it, but the music is surprisingly cool (especially for something that's being handed out for free). A nice variety of relaxing, tripping, pumping electronic music. And I got to have the pleasure of being first to enter it into the freedb database.
Let'see. I think I'll either sleep or pack now. Eenie meenie minee moe. There will likely be no content from me here for the next week. I may write a bit of fresh frozen content on the road to transcribe later. We'll see.
For now, over and out.
