[Bitscape gets totally distracted messing with the DVD player, and watches the last several scenes of Moulin Rouge again, and becomes preoccupied with rewatching the second-to-last shot in the movie several times, a reverse B5-style pushin night-to-day interior / exterior / interior / pan which seamlessly combines.... way, way too many elements.]
I think I shall have to listen to the commentaries on that disc. Yes, I shall.
With all the insane people writing favorite films lists for 2001, perhaps I ought to add to the fray and make my own list. In years past, I've sometimes joked about holding the "Bitscape Movie Awards", but never quite gone through with it. Hmmm.... Many good films last year. Many, many good films. Choosing the very best one might prove tough. Hmmmm...
[Bitscape eats his asparagus out of the kettle. Which was cooked Thursday evening.]
I'm getting my vegetables, dammit!
Hmm... I never did log the Moulin Rouge viewing from... Was it Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning? Tuesday, movielog time. Oh well. I'm sure there will be plenty more viewings in the future, one of which can be logged. A beautiful, beautiful film. Yes. Grand opera for speed freaks, indeed.
I am in the zone! Well, mostly. On the New Year's resolution front, I exercised on Wednesday. I've been reading for a half hour each night before bed. (For those who are interested, it happens to be a book upon which a movie I recently viewed (along with most of the rest of the world) was based.) I had planned to exercise tonight, but... with the snow falling hard outside, once I entered my apartment after work, I did NOT want to set foot outside again, even to go to the gym. I'm procrastinating that until tomorrow. Boohoo.
Before the snow started coming like crazy, I was also thinking about going to the cinema to watch a fine film downtown, but that too was foiled by the weather. Another time.
So anyway, this evening, I had a nice peaceful time taking in my standard nightly complement of 2 Buffy episodes, followed by a film on good old channel 503. (Astute readers could probably predict with some degree of accuracy which films might be likely to appear in Bitscape's future movielog entries based solely on the IFC schedule.)
I suppose in theory, assuming the weather doesn't interfere again, there will be a something resembling a phest tomorrow night.
This is the sound
Here comes the warm machine
Such a warm machine
Sometimes I feel like such a junkie. One of these days...
Let us now degenerate further into the land of incoherence and mindless babble.
Ok, actually I have nothing further to say, coherent or not. Back at ya later.
