As of 5 minutes ago, I have just finished off the last of the Thanksgiving rolls. Thank you.

Yesterday was Christmas. I hadn't bought any wrapping paper to wrap the gifts, so I finally resorted to the strategic use of trashbags and masking tape to do the job. It worked nicely.

Everyone in the family convened at mom's for present opening. Gifts were exchanged with much merriment. The parental units had collaborated to get bouncing and I a pair of identically wonderful, yet unexpected gifts: A microwave oven for each of us. Perfect. It has already proven highly useful for heating up the last of the thanksgiving rolls.

In addition, they got us each different food processor / grinder type devices each suited to our tastes. bouncing, being the coffee nut that he is, now has a device that can function as a coffee bean grinder in his Coffeehouse Apartment. I can now make Delicious Dish quickly and efficiently without wearing the muscles in my arms raw on the manual grater. Excellent.

bouncing gave me a very cool cordless digital clock that can be hung on the wall, and sets itself to the atomic broadcasts from NIST. To my delight, it can also be set to show the time in the One True Format. Excellent.

Everyone seemed very pleased with their gifts.

To eat, we went to the European Apartment and had lasagna.

After dinner, the family migrated to my place. (Since I have been calling bouncing's place the Coffeehouse Apartment, he has started referring to mine as the "Castle Arcade".) Everyone hung out at my place for a while, and played GameCube. (So far, Super Monkey Ball has proven to be the crowd favorite on all occassions.)

bouncing and I watched disc 3 of The Sopranos. Methinks I'm going to have to bump disc 4 (the last disc of season 1, I believe) to the front in my order queue. Maybe I'll do that now.

I've noticed some funky behavior when running two sessions of mozilla under the same user account on separate X displays. Sometimes, when I do something on Dagobah's display, Argo's mozilla will clobber what I did, and vice versa. It's obvious why this is happening. They're both running from the same config files, and when one gets flushed to disk, it overwrites anything the other process did. Unfortunately, I don't see any obvious solution. I want to run both mozilla's at the same time on different displays, and I want to share config data between them. It's not catastrophic to lose a cookie every now and then, but it is annoying. Oh well.

As for today, things that might happen include: apartment cleaning, a bath for Tobias (it's been over a month I think), a haircut, and maybe some other random activities. And so, I sign off.
