Server outages, brain farts, and blob-like masses from outer space

A rambling tonight. Although I don't know just how long this one will end up being.

Well, the rumors that have been circulating around about an impending server outage turned out to actually be true. I was having my doubts for a while. Like conspiracy theories, some rumors about server outages tend to occur when no such conspir^H^H^H^H^H^H^H outages actually exist. Likewise, when everybody believes everything will be fine for all eternity, there's probably a power switch just about to be kicked. But in this case, the real outage and the rumors coincided fairly closely. Unbelievable.

Pay no attention to that man babbling behind the curtain about conspiracy outages.

Well, the server is indeed up. I have verified it for myself, although it was only through a bit of detective luck that the IP was discovered. Happenstance. Playing the odds. Hahaha.

So anyway, although it will be upload to the server, who knows how long it will be until the rest of the mere mortals get a chance to read this rambling. Not like it's some greatly anticipated publication release or anything.

But speaking of greatly anticipated...

On Tuesday night, I finally broke down. I could take it no more. The thought of it. The sight. The salivation. (No, not salvation, although you may think of it that way if you wish.) Yes, I took a trip to Best Buy and acquired a copy of The X Files complete Season 2 DVD pack.

Anyone care to guess what my activities have consisted of for the past 2 nights?

That was rhetorical, BTW.

Quality stuff.

Umm... Although it may seem at a direct cross purpose to the above, I've also been endeavoring to get my sleep doses back to something resembling sane. Went to bed at 21:20 last night. No kidding. I was dead tired, too. I know I was, because despite the fascinating Scully abduction story arc, my brain was totally ready to go off into dreamland after Ascension. So I conceded. Took the opportunity to sleep -- the fact that my body was actually willing to do so at a time it was available -- with gratitude.

Woke up at 0700, feeling like I could have used another 2 hours or more. Had it not been for work, I probably would have stayed unconscious until at least 0900.

As always, I've also got a bunch of feature ideas for the Content Collective. All very much implementable. All with quite a clear picture in my head as to how it will be done. Except for the elusive better color fading algorithm. Exactly how on that one is still eluding. Hmmm... But it's the one I most want to play with, so maybe I'll fool with it tonight. Scheduling it right between supper, alien abductions, and an early bedtime. Yep.

Speaking of which, I think spaghetti sounds good. A nice hot plate of it. And a viewing of 3. I'll go for that. Starting right now.
