Today, Friday.
I'll start by saying that thoughts of abandoning my current job in search of another have been... well... abandoned. For the near future, at least.
[Bitscape removes shrinkwrap, inserts disc.]
Play.
After work today, Tobias and I took off in an easterly direction....
[Bitscape pauses to remove the insert booklet, and examines.]
Holy cow, this thing is thick! And there's like... text! Reading material. To go with the music.
...In multiple languages! Autobiographical rambling-like accounts. kickin!
I think I am destined to become a fan. Strange, that.
Ahem, back to our story. Eastward in a shivering stiff cold, but slowly warming Tobias. A hungry Tobias. But nevertheless, a still adventuresome Tobias.
First order of business: Feed Tobias. After a bit of travel, we came to a fitting, non-inferior feeding station. Having just gotten warm, Tobias stopped to get his fill. Back on the road, warm, satisfied, and happy. (Quite dirty too. But alas, in this weather, baths are much less pleasant. He needs one anyway, really. Soon.)
Next stop: The central source of all things entertainment. Best Buy. First item to search for: Music from Loreena McKennitt. Bingo.
At this point, some readers might be asking: And just how did Bitscape suddenly decide to look for music by this Loreena who person? Last night, I was reading Slashdot. I don't remember exactly how, but somewhere, her music came up in one of the discussions, and someone spoke very positively of said artist. Several other readers replied to confirm the quality of said music.
Naturally, being the music-phile that he is, Bitscape decided it was time for a web search. Got the official site, downloaded some samples, and decided this was music worthy of my collection. Think of a cross between Enya (after all, they are both Celtic music), Enigma, and.... hmmm, lots of acoustic string instruments.
While at Best Buy, Bitscape also snagged a copy of American Beauty for US$20. The DVD has come highly recommended by coworkers (and I know the movie itself is excellent from my theatrical viewing).
While there, Bitsacpe also took a brief stroll through the home theater audio systems (mmmmmm). Errr... Labeled "Home Theatre Solutions". Hahaha. (I'm just waiting for the day that Taco Bell starts advertising itself as the world's premiere "Economical Sustanance Solutions Provider".)
No, I didn't buy any hardware. Need to do more research first, and even then... hmmm... My appetite has been whet, however. :)
Happy bank account depletion card got its second usage for the evening. Then it was on to Barnes and Noble.
I knew exactly what I wanted. Went straight to the O'Reilly section, and found my copy of the horse book. Argo seriously needs to be configured. (Hah! Horse book. Heehee.) And as much as I hate to admit it, I am pretty much an idiot when it comes to Apache. Yes, I've read this and that, twiddled with this configuration directive and that one, but I find my basic understanding lacking. The online docs have info, but sometimes, it's just easier to soak it in from a dead tree. Hence, my purchase.
Swipe that plastic!
And on home. Where I typed this rambling. Next, out for Chinese with the family. Therefore, I shall terminate this rambling NOW.
Weekend.
