Today at lunch, I mentioned the problem I was having X4 totally crashing cold on me whenever I ran kernel 2.4. And whatdayaknow, one coworker recalled having heard about this problem happening to others. The solution: Install the xfs package.

I just did that using my handy apt, rebuilt my 2.4 test10 kernel, ran lilo, and rebooted. Right now, I type this into an eterm running under X4 + 2.4. Unbelievable. I am most gratified. (Especially since I didn't like the prospect of trying to convince my sound card to work under 2.2.17. Yes, there are SBLive drivers out there which are supposed to work with 2.2, but having at all in the standard kernel feels so much... cleaner. Ahhhhh.)

[Bitscape fires up some Tori. Cruel.]

Lalala. Hmmmm.... Perhaps I should bring a cd or three to work tomorrow. Hmmmm...

Upon arriving home this evening, I followed my now becoming-semi-normal routine of shutting down almost immediately, and then waking up a couple hours later. Watched Ally McBeal tonight, my first full episode viewing of that show so far this season. The father/son triangle. Ally, Ally, Ally.... tsk tsk tsk. lol. And that bitchy chaste witch (if I dare re-use that word, potentially insulting the members of the religion I am currently studying)... Quite hilarious. Quality Television Programming, my friends. Quality Television Programming.

[Bitscape allows himself to become absorbed in the totally trance-inducing Spark remix for a few minutes.]

Well, I think I'll get down with the spiritual studies momentarily. My mentor has consulted with others of greater spiritual advancement, and compiled a list of some more recommended reading choices for someone at my level to help further my knowledge. "the newbie" I am. Heehee. The spiritual newbie.

Well, I could try rambling more about spiritual matters, but I think what I need right now is more intake. More learning. Reflect and understand. Continue the search within myself, and remain vigilant. And all that good stuff.

Reading time.
