Ok people, whatever you do, do NOT try to eat Taco Bell hot sauce when your tongue is already suffering from inflamation caused by... some unknown source. I dunno what it was this morning, but I woke up with a nasty sore tongue, with blood actually seeping through the surface near the tip. It was like a million little microscopic pieces of broken glass had made little cuts, and it hurt like hell. I'm thinking it might have been caused by my mouth going totally dry at some point during the night, and when I inhaled, the air hitting it in such a way as that all the moisture was totally removed. Possibly, anyway.

As the day went on, it felt better and I sort of forgot about it. But I repeat: Do NOT try to eat Taco Bell hot souce if your tongue is ever in such a state. You do so at your own peril. Moving on...

[After Bitscape runs to the freezer to grab another ice cube for oral application, that is...]

Well, obviously I didn't get a whole lot of web design work done over the weekend. [grimace] Actually, believe it or not, most of the day Sunday was spent in a rather light sleep. I did wake up in between naps to watch Blade Runner. Then went back to sleep again. /me thinks he's been spending staying up late watching DVD's a little too much lately. Anyway, a little catchup rest never hurts.

Of course, getting to sleep on Sunday night was a bit problematic. But I did manage it eventually. But goddammit, even after all that sleep yesterday, I was still feeling a strong tendancy to pull a George today (as in Costanza), and grab a pillow, curl up under the desk, and go nighty night. (Maybe "nighty night" isn't such a good choice of words, since night is the time I'm most likely to be alert and awake.)

Oh, and in the happy news department, I did get my license plates today. This time, at least the county clerk was half ready to process it. After waiting in line for 15 minutes, I give them my info, and they're like, "Oh ok, the dealer did send us the registration, which we received on June 1st, but we have to process the paperwork. Come back in 20 minutes." Now one would think they would have done that before it was time to deal with the customer, but apparently not. Oh well. At least I got my plates. I'm happy.

I can now consider myself one of the "normal" car drivers. Ya know, when you have a temporary sticker, it's cool because the car is still "new", but it's like you don't really, really have it until the metal license plates are affixed, and it's not a toddler anymore. It's been broken in. Potty trained, if you will. It's all grown up! :)

lol. Ok, I'll stop with the nonsensical metaphors. And on with the fun.

Of course, it so figures that now that I actually have a perfect opportunity to lay down and go to sleep, I'm not really feeling tired anymore. It's like all day, I wanted nothing more than to lay down and take a nap, and now that I'm here, with darkness approaching... Grrr. Maybe if I lie down, I'll get sleepy. Not likely, really.

If I dare, I think I'll quote an unnamed source: "Sleep Patterns. Fucked Up. Royally."

Amen to that.
