Unprecedented news breaking: Bitscape uploads new code

Yeah, don't laugh too hard. Pathetic, I know. But I couldn't end another weekend putting nothing up on the server, so there it is. An ugly, half-finished little perl interface. No graphics. Cheap colors. Incomplete info. And no titles or any identifying information whatsoever. I don't think I've ever publicly posted such a shabby looking thing before, even when Dagobah was running development stuff live on the live ucollege.edu network. lol.

What I do have are a lot of ideas, a fair amount of commented out code and unused modules which I realized weren't going to get usable before the end of the weekend, so I simply disabled them. Some of that stuff I originally wrote for Bitscape's Lounge version 2.0 a few months ago is, frankly, hideous in the extreme. Also good ideas in there, and things that just need to be fixed, corrected, or in some cases, rethought completely. (You know something is wrong when something needs to be redesigned before it's even been released.)

So, there you are. I plan to add and improve bits and pieces with greater frequency, and post updates as I do them. I'm hoping that actually having a live page will motivate me to do so with greater vigor. It's more fun when you can actually release a function you've just written to the world, rather than say "I'll put it up after I get these other thousand things done, and wow everybody with a completely new package." This time, I'm fairly certain I will have underwhelmed the audience. Too bad. It's my page. I'm gonna go watch Simpson. :)
