Rambling in the middle

Alrighty. Simpsons over. X Files a few minutes away. What better time to post a rambling, given that I haven't done one for a few days?
Well, obviously, I survived the first week at eSoft. Quite the place, it is. Much less stressfull than supervising little kids for 8 hours, which was my last full time job consisted of. :)
So this weekend, I fixed the escape sequence bug, corrected the prior error, ported the movielog and links, and did a little more on the new interface. In theory, I could put what I have of it up now, since it seems to be working fairly well, but I'd rather get more of the features I've been planning into it, and also flesh out the structure a bit more.
It the meatspace department, I spent a few hours yesterday and today making my room just a bit more navigable. Funny how if you just leave it for a few weeks, the whole thing gradually degenerates into a total disaster. Like a memory leak. Perhaps reality still has a few bugs that need to be addressed. I betcha if the universe were open sourced, it would have been fixed long ago.
I've also spent a fair amount of time in front of the idiot box. Brief rundown (when I get this part of the interface up and working, crap like this will go into its own section. Call it a tvlog):
- The Lost World. When this show first aired, I wasn't terribly impressed. Since then, it has grown on me a bit. The episodes have kind of had a hit and miss pattern. Yesterday's, in which a guy posing as Veronica's father had stolen his formula for a mind control substance. (I should post a spoiler warning, but I have my doubts that anyone will care anyway.) Not a bad ep.
- Beastmaster. Slow-moving plots. Bad acting. Interesting camera work. Awesome intro credits sequence. Why did I watch it? Because it's there. (I'm loathe to watch tv for that reason, but sometimes, it's the truth.) In yesterday's episode, they found the color-changing baby. Yipee.
- Cleopatra 2525. The first half of the first 2-parter of the series. Could we possibly throw in more references to existing scifi pop culture? Let's see, in this episode there were mentions of Star Trek, Star Wars, The X Files, Battlestar Galactica, 2001: Space Odyssy, and probably some others I forgot. It had me laughing though. Looking forword to next week's.
- Jack of All Trades. Yesterday's wasn't as funny as previous ones have been. Maybe it was the mood I was in. I dunno.
- Xena: Warrior Princess. Amphipolis Under Seige. A decent episode, but not the best. Certainly better than last week's Joxerfest (bleah!). We'll have to wait and see. Xena had me wondering for a while there during act 3.
- Earth: Final Conflict. Well, I only watched the first act, and taped the rest. My brain was just too tired to enjoy it.
- Futurama Good, funny stuff. Too bad they moved it, or I wouldn't be typing this now.
- Simpson's. Homer the missionary.
Bye. Mulder and Scully on COPS beckon.
