Why Madonna is so willing to express herself to an uncaring world

Why does someone such as Madonna with such keen knowledge and wisdom, who has money to live luxuriously off of for the rest of her life, parade herself in front of a world which consistently misinterprets her message, debunks her, and spreads lies about her? What is the point in it? Even a good deal of her fans misunderstand her and her message, although almost all of them are sincerely trying to get what she is saying. (Please, fellow Madonna fans, don't flame me for this one. I'm just another fan like you, expressing my own point of view. ;-) )

I think the reason she does it is for her own happiness. It feels good to her to be performing in front of an audience which can appreciate her on some level. She has said many times that she wants the audience to enjoy the show. In Truth or Dare, she even became angry and complained when there were a large number of "industry" people in the front rows, who sat through the show stone-faced and unappreciative. This is a woman who craves attention, and she is very good at getting it.

And why shouldn't she? Her audiences obviously love to give it to her. It brings them joy and pleasure to see her perform. It is clearly a win-win situation, and the world needs as many of those as it can get. Do not let the propaganda of the defeatists belittle the strong bonds between an audience and a performer. There is a loving, nurturing connection present, and when that happens, there are no losers.

3 And he spake many things to them in parables, saying, Behold a sower went forth to sow;
4 And When he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth:
6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
8 But other fell into good ground and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Matthew 13: 3-9
