After an almost-week-long stay in Colorado, I'm back in Lincoln, NE. I'm still hesitant to call this city "home", but here I am, where I expect to remain for the foreseeable future.
A few little stats about my 5 or 6 day stay (depending on how you count it):
- Trips from Westminster to Boulder and back: 4
- Bumper stickers purchased: 7
- Visits to the Boulder Co-op Market: 3
- People who brought food to serve at Food Not Bombs on Saturday: 1, including me. (Good thing I brought the extra bread along too.)
- Number of homeless people served at Food Not Bombs: Around a dozen probably, but I wasn't counting, couldn't verify anyone's residential status, and isn't the whole "homeless" dichotomy a little tired by now anyway?
- Movies watched: 4 -- 3 from discs I brought (the last courtesy of Yanthor), and 1 in a theater.
- Number of times I looked up at the mountains, shook my head and wondered, "Why the frack am I going back to live in Lincoln, anyway?": 52
- Days I was glad to have the relatives and friends I do: 6.
- Moments of seriously not wanting to return to Lincoln to continue with the life I've begun to build here: 0.
So here I am. Arrived at 3am last night. Rebooted my room today. Said hello to Yanthor's parents. Tomorrow, I'll be working at both of my jobs. (Don't ask, just smile and nod.)
