Haven't done much writing here lately. It's not for lack of things going on. In fact, there's been quite a lot happening. I guess I just haven't felt motivated to write about it. Anyway, here goes.

• Weekend before last -- Nemo visited. We had some good discussions while he was here. Though we approach things from very different perspectives, we have a certain kinship. He also had some fascinating insights about the coming crash; I was impressed to hear about his own personal preparations. At some point, I'd like to journey down to Arkansas to see his garden.
• Last weekend -- My mom visited for a couple days. I had arranged to have some time off work, so we went around town, she was impressed with Open Harvest, we also went to the farmer's market, and she bought me a huge birthday cake to share with friends. Oh, and Metroid Prime II: Echos. Makes me feel like a little kid again.

Other: More scifi viewings at the house of former computer science teacher. Tonight was the Battlestar Gallactica miniseries, for which I arrived late after work. Yanthor had been nice enough to save me a plate of food.

Yesterday, got a new comfy chair. Somebody down the street had left it out by the curb next to their trash. Upon seeing it during my walk home, I tried it out, picked it up, and carried it down the block. Arm muscles are still sore from that, but it was definitely worth it. It's great to sit in and read, play video games, watch movies, or whatever. Funny how good stuff like that just seems to fall into my lap.

One of my bumper stickers reads: Find what you love, love what you find. On my car since August 30, 2004, I consider it my motto. If I had to get rid of every bumper sticker except one, that's the one I'd keep.

Can't believe it's August already. I guess that's all I have to say.
