Earlier today, I grabbed a pair of scissors, and discovered that yes, with a little bit of effort and courage, along with a small dose of insanity, I am able to cut my hair just as well as they can in an expensive salon. I did screw it up a little bit in the back (obviously, the most difficult part). If I had that part to do again, I think I could do better though. When it grows back, I'll get more practice. The trick is to not worry too much about making everything the perfect length, and just give it some style.
This evening, we had another x13 meeting, where the official company motto is, "We reinvent the same wheel over, and over, and over again." I don't know how many times I've sat in front of a whiteboard where we went through desgining this same schema the past several years, but no matter how many times it's been done before, we always seem to find a way to do it again. And often, it goes in circles too. In some ways, things are again starting to resemble what they did in the early stages of buildmeasite 2.5 years ago.
I suppose that means in another year, it'll be time to move away from commodity hosting again before we dive back in, assuming history follows the pattern. lol.
On the plus side, there was the usual round of free inflow junk food, and as a bonus, tinkering with a projection system that's way too fancy for its own good. Such are the dangers of letting scottgalvin.com & Co loose in an expensive data center conference room.
