Things we've done since I arrived in Lincoln Friday morning:

• Watched City of Lost Children. A cool movie that I want to watch again at some point. Maybe next time, I'll be better able to understand what's going on. My rating: ***. (if what others say is any indicator, that might go up upon future viewings)
• Played several games of Seafarers of Catan. A most addictive pastime.
• Watched episodes of Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis, and Battlestar Galactica at the home of a former computer science professor who I hadn't seen in years.
• Observed Yanthor's Everquest 2 insanity.
• I've twiddled bits of my website code here and there, mostly grunt type things and bug fixes that I've been meaning to work on.
• Performed a scaled down impromptu version of the infamous festing movie voting scheme. This one involved actual paper ballots and writing utensils.
• Watched Joe Versus the Volcano. I had seen it many many years ago on VHS, but it was fun watching it again. The first half hour is especially good. (***)
• Bubba Hotep. Absurd comedy about Elvis Presley in his old age, played by Bruce Campbell, battling giant bugs and an undead mummy in a nursing home. Ridiculous, but amusing at times. (** 1/2)
• Eaten a nice variety of yummy foods, most of them prepared by Anya.

This impromptu journey may have been a nutty thing to do, but I'm glad I did. Better to do it now, while I have lots of free time and gas is cheap, than later when my schedule might not be so flexible (gonna have to pay off debts at some point), and $2.13/gallon unleaded will seem like an impossible bargain.
