Once again, Ran Prieur eloquently gives us the brutal truth:
The optimism of the left, in the run-up to this election, has now been revealed as an exact parallel to the wishful thinking of the right in the run-up to the Iraq war. Right wingers are finally figuring out that the Iraqi people are not on their side, and I hope liberals can learn faster: that the American people are not progressive, they don't care about the economy, they don't care if they're knee deep in toxic waste and have to eat their children for food. More than half of the American people are batshit crazy, they have lost all touch with reality, they care only about two things: that gay people shouldn't get married and that the president must never admit a mistake. You think Bush is stupid? He has proven himself smarter than everyone who called this election for Kerry...
Now the world knows that it's not just Bush who's their enemy, but the American people. In a few years, when WWIII is winding down and China or the EU is getting ready to bomb and invade us and liberate the camps, do not expect any mercy. The nice thing about this election is, the sane people are now going to move to the lifeboats, while the insane go down with the ship.
