I'm going to diverge from the more personally immediate subject of the ongoing fest for a bit. As I've been catching up on my news surfing for a bit, the urge to type up yet another political screed has come. And since I just used Humblik's handy connection to download an entire album from none other than Black Sabbath, which I'm now listening to, I'm in the perfect mood.

Revenge Fantasies. Some say Americas are having them. Maybe so. When I look inside myself, I see that I am too. I want the perpetrators to suffer. I want them to be tortured. Brutally. They deserve it.

But my revenge fantasies do not involve the persecution of Iraqis or other foreigners. They are harmless and blameless to me. When I think of people stuck in the prisons over there, I think of those who might be friends or relatives of Salam Pax, Riverbend, or Faiza. I am outraged when I see innocents being tortured.

At the risk of being hunted down and cornered, I'm going to reveal a brief glimpse of my revenge fantasies.

I want to see those who have done the most to hurt my country punished. I want to see George Bush run and down and eviscerated by an angry mob made up of the people to whom he has done the worst damage, just like the scene in the unrated director's cut of Natural Born Killers, where the prison warden gets his dues.

I want Donald Rumsfeld to be thrown into one of those prisons which were setup under his command, about which he now expresses mock outrage. Everything that was done to the Iraqi prisoners should be done to him.

John Ashcroft should be sent to Guantonamo Bay and be spread with the menstral blood of prostitutes, just as the the Arab inmates were.

Revenge fantasies? Yes, I have plenty of them.

But for now, let's focus on more positive things. Back to the fest. :)
