Yesterday morning. After sleeping in, packing, getting Tobias a procrastinated oil change, and loading my stuff into the car, I decided there was barely enough time to eat a big, pre-roadtrip meal at King Buffet, which might also be called Poultry Heaven. (Sesame chicken, chicken shish kabab, lemon baked chicken, hot wings... Yum.) An almost too-good way to stave off hunger not only for the entire roadtrip to Licoln, but the rest of the evening as well.
I arrived at the Temple of Castor and Pollux at 12:50, slightly later than originally planned (but I had informed Jaeger of my slight delay via phone). Jaeger and Kiesa were all ready when I arrived. Amazingly we managed to fit everything into Tobias with minimal fuss.
I love how driving can make a span of 7 hours just vanish away into a blissful flash of nothing, especially when there's music to go with it. Jaeger and I alternated picking music selections -- his came via his nifty device, and mine via the ancient but trusty Panasonic portable. (Kiesa opted out of the selection process.)
The playlist, for posterity's sake (and just for the hell of it):
- Eve 6 - Horrorscope. (Jaeger)
- Nightwish - Oceanborn. (Bitscape)
- Michelle Branch - [???]. (Jaeger)
- Listen N.U.D.E. (compilation of dance and electronic artists) (Bitscape)
- BT - ESCM (Jaeger)
- Def Leppard - Hysteria (Bitscape)
- Garbage - Version 2.0 (Jaeger)
We arrived at Humblik's place. Much fun was had. More on that later. (I'm off to eat breakfast before it gets cold...)
