Now, for the summary.

  • Wednesday. Traveled to Lincoln, arrived at Humblik Zone, got reaquainted with everybody, made a mass Super Saver grocery run, and began to settle in. Watched a really funny movie from the 40's than Yanthor highly recommended before trotting off to bed at around 0400 (which would become the typical bedtime each night, more or less).

  • Thursday. During breakfast, I mistook Linknoid's yellow colored tofu dish for eggs. I don't generally like tofu that much, but his version (not recognizable as tofu) actually one tasted very good.

I made bean dip. Yes, it literally took almost all afternoon. (Lack of automated tools means much more manual chopping, cutting, and mashing.) But as I told Linknoid, I believe it was worth it.

In the evening, we participated in another insane Jaeger-concocted voting system to choose the movies to watch. It made for much fun and merriment. After Master and Commander, several of us had some late night Kohan-playing fun.

  • Friday. For some silly and ridiculous reason, my body decided to wake me up at the ungodly early hour of 0900. Feeling rather restless, I took a long walk, and arrived back in time for the Nemo/Jaeger waffle cookoff. The waffles were delicious. I also got to try out Jaeger's very amusing Simpson's Hit and Run cube game.

More Kohan and other random stuff in the afternoon. I decided I was still restless, and invited anyone who cared to join on a communal walk. Jaeger, Kiesa, and Nemo joined, and we revisited some of the areas I had traversed earlier in the morning. When we started, my perception of time deceived me into thinking it was much earlier in the day than it really was. We arrived back in time to enjoy a Yanthor and Anya-sponsored supper of ravioli, jalapeno garlic bread (which didn't turn out as spicy as Yanthor hoped it would be), and chocolate chip cookies over a viewing of Castle in the Sky.

Late night Friday, Kiesa, Anya, and I conspired to initiate a viewing of the third movie on the voting list -- Strictly Ballroom. It was most excellent. Shortly after, bedtime came.

  • Saturday. Again, my body wouldn't stay asleep past 0930. I made a solo run to HyVee (local grocery store) and got some semi-disposable containers so the bean dip could be removed from the big kettle I had brought. Then, after another yummy Linknoid-prepared breakfast (this time french toast), I found myself getting sleepy about the time everyone else was lively and awake. We played some monkey ball 2 games (monkey dogfight was most entertaining), and then I took a brief nap.

I woke up, drafted the beginnings of a few rather ambitious ideas for new Lounge features, and then actually got around to doing a little bit of playing with the code. After getting my source trees more organized and synced up, I diddled around making a couple of fun but trivial features, played with Gimp, and felt happy that at I had done at least something programming-related during this "fest".

In the evening, we consumed soup (Kiesa + Linknoid), spanikopita (Kiesa), and cornbread (Linknoid), hung about, talked, and watched the 4th movie on the voting list, the Count of Monte Cristo. Then, though it wasn't next on the voting list, some of us decided to have a veiwing of Equalibrium. Yanthor had highly recommended it, but Jaeger had also seen it on a previous occassion and gave it a strong anti-recommendation (and a heavy dose of negative votes). Kiesa and Anya told me it was better than Jaeger's dim review made it out to be. Those who were interested (Anya, Kiesa, me, and intermittently Yanthor) watched it, while the rest did other things. Then, again, sleepiness and bedtime came all too quickly.

  • Sunday. Just getting underway now. Again, my crazy body woke me up before anyone else, so I typed this rambling. After that, who's to say?!? :)
