An early start

Well, I was thinking about getting an early start this morning. Well, I'm about to head out of town, and it isn't noon quite yet. So I guess that might qualify as early.

Last night, I was pleasantly surprised to find that a box from CDBaby was already waiting for me in the mailbox. Kudos to them for shipping in record time. Now I will have plenty of nice new road music to listen to. (And I swear, I'm not on their payroll!)

(I am somewhat annoyed to find that the one disc that I was most interested in would not work in either my stereo's dvd player, or my portable player. It's quite obviously a burned CDR. Neither of my normal players are 100% reliable with them. All the rest of the discs in my order worked fine, so I suspect they might be relying on the artists to produce the media. I shall be contacting their customer support department promptly upon my return, but I don't have time to deal with it right now. Hopefully, I can get a standard pressed disc as a replacement, because I really do love the music. But if every copy in existence was created with consumer grade equipment, that might be too much to hope for.)

Also in the mail last night was a nice big envelope from the bumper sticker people. Hooray! Now Tobias can cross the country not only as a billboard for alternative thought and media, but now also an unambiguous bastion of anti-fascist rhetoric.

(I still can't stomach the thought of bearing the banner of the other idiot even though I'll be voting for him, but at least I can express my extreme displeasure with the destruction wreaked upon my country by the current administration.)

Now I really ought to get going. I'm pondering the thought of stopping at the King Buffet on the way out of town, as it has sort of become a personal tradition, and it is good to leave on a happily full stomach. But I did also get some nice road food at the grocery store last night, so I think I'll be set either way.

(I'm thinking as little as possible about the actual reason for my journey, because there will be plenty of time to think about that once I get there.)

Yanthor got my message, and sent a reply. I will be seeing the Lincoln festing contingent again much sooner than I expected to when I departed there less than 2 weeks ago. It would be nice to have a bit of time to hang with friends on my stop before taking off again. So I think I'll be out of here pronto.

Adios, Colorado.
