From the Temple...

Coming now from "The Temple of Castor and Pollux", where we held the opening ceremony a few minutes ago. When bouncing and I arrived earlier this evening, Yanthor, Jaeger, and Kiesa were just finishing up Galaxy Quest. After that, we setup the Cube, played a game of monkey bowling, went for a fortification run, and now (ph|f)esting is underway! (Theoretically, the fest might not totally be underway until tomorrow when Humblik arrives, although the exact time of the official fest start is a hotly debated issue.)
I've been terribly lax about writing content over the past few days, so a quick summary catchup:
On Christmas Eve, I handed out presents to other family members. They weren't quite done with their shopping yet, so we had a "staggered" Christmas. (The 4 days of Christmas.)
On Saturday, the others announced that my present was ready. Instead of each of them buying me small gifts, mom, dad, and bouncing all went in on one big item. It was something I had half-jokingly mentioned that I wanted, but I didn't really expect to get it. A midi keyboard.
I spent most of the day yesterday messing around with that, RTFM, and learning my way around the interface. (I haven't actually done anything with the midi interface part just yet, but as soon as I get a cable, I plan to have tons of fun interfacing it with my sound card.)
When I finish my first composition on the device, I'll be sure to post an ogg file here. :)
Today, I journied to the Boulder Compound to act in an upcoming production. I look forward to seeing the finished result with as much anticipation as the rest of the world.
Now, an episode of The West Wing from Yanthor's collection is playing, and I find myself gradually getting drawn into it.
I'm also contemplating what my project for this fest should be. I have a few thoughts on the matter, but I haven't decided for sure yet.
