Tonight, Jaeger, Yanthor, and I played a couple of Kohan games on Wild Triangle. In both games, I was ceyah, Yanthor was royalist, and Jaeger was council. Yanthor won the first game with an army of grenadiers clerics, and sorceresses.

The second game was crazy. Jaeger started out with an early lead, so after I had scorched one of Yanthor's cities, Yanthor and I made peace and decided to gang up on Jaeger. We succeeded in driving him back significantly, at which point I broke off my pact with Yanthor, who had taken the center and become the dominant player. After Jaeger regained a bunch of his territory, I signed a treaty with him, and we took on Yanthor.

As the game had progressed, I had gradually expanded my economy and troop capabilities, so I was able to put together enough firepower in the form of bone bows, maelstroms, and shadow knights that I was able to capture all of Yanthor's home turf while Jaeger hit him in the center. By the time Jaeger broke off the pact with me, I had enough stuff to defend myself and wipe the floor with him. (Although he did put up an impressive last stand.)

Film.

Now I'm contemplating going to bed soon, since I have somehow managed to once again assume an almost "normal schedule", in which one wakes up in the morning and goes to sleep at night.

One of scottgalvin.com's clients has given us a project where I can flex my php and javascript muscles. (It's been a while since I've done that.) Just a little. Nothing real fancy. But it's something.

I've also been nibbling on Two Towers documentaries. One reviewer (I forget which one) had it right: This is not a dvd release to try to devour all at one time. It's just too huge. Just take a documentary or two at a time, and savor them. One 4-hour commentary track this week, and one next week, and another the week after that. And don't rush through the conceptual drawings (also with commentary on many of them). Right. I've heard that somewhere in all that, there might also actually be a movie. Imagine!

So far, I've watched most of the stuff on the first appendix disc. It's mind-boggling to think of all the stuff that went into that production. It's just too much. When I watch the section about the WETA workshop, and see how they hand crafted all that detail into the armor, weapons, costumes, prosthetics, and props. It's beyond crazy.

And the Gollum section is soooo sweet. If there were any justice in this world, Two Towers would have won the oscar for Best Picture 2002, and Andy Serkis et all would have been awarded best performance by an actor. (Or something. I don't know if what he did counts as "actor", but his work should have been nominated and won something.)

I've also been working on getting my possessions more or less in order. On Monday, I pretty much decided that the way my room was arranged wasn't working, and moved things around a bunch (gzip -7). It's still not perfect, but much better than before.

Meanwhile, the non-stop Britney party in the ogg player continues...

Here comes the showdown
What goes around comes around
And the crowd's all waiting
Yeah

My head is fried now. Goodnight.
