My life. Here's the scoop.

• Potential job interview for a position with unnamed local company. Since responding to their email last week, I haven't heard diddly. The more time passes, the less likely it seems. Then again, it took them over a month to get back to me after I sent in my resume, so who knows?

• Today, mom departed to go to Chicago, Illinois. She will be doing some work for the local branch of her company for a few weeks there, but the main reason for her visit is grandma. According to the doctors, grandma probably has a few months left to live.

  I contemplate making a visit myself, especially since I don't currently have much in the way of time commitments. I declined to join mom on this trip, because, for one thing, I don't want to be marooned in Chicago for an entire month. The other reason was that as of late last week, it looked like the "real job" possibility would be worth sticking around to interview for. Maybe it still is.

  I entertained the possibility of making an Illinois detour after the Lincoln fest, but it's looking less and less like that's going to take place next weekend.

  Depending on how all these things take shape, I still haven't ruled out the possibility of jumping into Tobias next week to make the 1000 mile trip for a few days next week. Maybe I could even pop in on Yanthor for 5 minutes on the way through. We'll see.
