This is Friday, isn't it?

Despite being unemployed, my mind still manages to remember which day of the week it is. Today is Friday. In what might be slightly unusual for me on a Friday in this era, I'm sticking around home tonight.

I worked on buildmeasite for most of the day today. The infamous web page builder engine is gradually beginning to take shape, just a little bit. At the end of the day, I managed to get a preliminary working demo ("working" for the parts that have been implemented so far) running on Illian. I'm psyched because of that. This project is fun for my brain.

This evening, I typed Part 4 of the ongoing wedding saga. As I neared the end of this chapter, I could feel my narrative muscles beginning to strain. I went back through and corrected a lot of poorly phrased sentences.

At the rate I'm going, Yanthor might have to wait a while before I get around to Sunday. It'll happen eventually though. I just hope I don't forget critical details before I get around to writing them.

I theorized that tonight, I might also begin writing the essay I've been planning and vaguely referring to since sometime last week. I'd like to write it. I want to write it. Writing it might be hard.

I don't want to build this up too much though. Maybe I shouldn't even discuss this at all until I actually have something ready to publish. Otherwise, it might get people's expectations up, and when it actually comes out, it won't be all that impressive at all. You could call it the "Phantom Menace" effect.

Oh well. Realistically, I don't think this is going to be something I can just churn out in one evening. I want to put it together like a real paper, with planning, an outline, and several rounds of careful proof-reading and revision. It would be a process vaguely resembling the way we wrote papers for college writing class, although maybe not quite so regimented.

Anyway, I may still start on that tonight. Don't count on anything being posted soon though. It'll be finished when it gets finished. On the other hand, this is the second piece of content I'm writing tonight. After that, with a day of coding before it, maybe I don't want to sit and type any longer. Maybe I'll just go out for a late evening jog. (The dance floor also sounds vaguely appealing, but I'd be very late if I left now. I think I'll just wait and go on Sunday.)

Tomorrow, I'll be attending another big event. You may have heard about it.

So... decision made. I rise up, put on a pair of shoes, and take a brief run. Then... who's to say what will happen?

The world may end tomorrow, but that will not stop me from enjoying today.
